ProEnglish is a national non-profit organization that works to educate the public about the need to protect English and make it the official language of the US.
Approximately 85% of United Nations member nations have official languages, and 54 of those nations have adopted English as an official language.
The United States has yet to be added to that list.
A common language is the bedrock of any society.
Without the ability to unify around a common means of communication, community and patriotism will wither away.
English must be made the official language of the United States.
Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI) is the latest cosponsor of the English Language Unity Act (H.R.997) in the United States House of Representatives, which would establish English as the official language of the United States.

57 countries currently have English classified as an official language. The United States isn't included in this list, despite having the world's largest population of native English speakers.
It's time to change this.
REMINDER:
A National Adult Literacy Survey found that immigrants with a low degree of English proficiency earned half of what those with a medium degree of proficiency earned.
California offers their driver's license exam in 32 different languages, even though virtually all road safety signage in America utilizes English.
For the sake of safety, it's time to standardize English on all official exams.
The term "assimilation" comes from the Latin word assimilationem, meaning “likeness" or "similarity.”
Assimilation into American society cannot occur without mastering our common language - English.

REMINDER: Making English the official language of the United States doesn't prevent people from learning or speaking other languages.
English has served as the bedrock of American society since our founding, and without our unifying language, the institutions we've established will slowly wither away.
English must be made official.

Establishing English as the official language does not mean suppressing other languages.
Instead, it encourages proficiency in English, which is crucial for economic mobility, civic engagement, and integration into society.
Reminder:
Establishing English as the official language of the United States will help promote national unity by providing a common language for all residents, regardless of their cultural backgrounds.
This unity is essential for a cohesive society.
Unprecedented levels of illegal immigration are overwhelming America's institutions.
Public schools, in particular, lack the institutional infrastructure required to adequately accommodate this surge of non-English speakers.

Making English the official language of the United States will streamline government operations, reduce translation costs, and ensure clarity in legal and official documents.
It's no coincidence that the vast majority of countries have codified an official language.
Without a common means of communication, unity within American civic society will gradually deteriorate.
English is a unifying force.
Every pilot and air traffic controller is required to be fluent in English.
If English is important enough to be the official language of aviation, then isn’t English important enough to be the official language of the United States?
