Thank you Petit Scholars staff for working hard to take care of our babies and toddlers! I always tell potential new families that the best thing about Petit Scholars is that we have the most amazing staff and families. I tend to over use the word amazing in conjunction with PS by the way.
Petit Scholars has been a great testament for me. It hasn't been easy financially and I left my good 6 figure paying job to do the uncertain. However, I knew I was combining my passion with the desire to meet a need in my community. When I was a a little girl I told my grandmother I was going to work with children and buy her house because I loved it and this neighborhood. It was my grandmother who convinced me to be a teacher and during that time people would always ask what's next for me. I would pause and say I was going to open a school in my neighborhood one day. Who knew one would actually happen or that one would turn into three? I never imagined it would be a program for infants and toddlers.
This entire experience has been a huge lesson in faith and living fearlessly. And as I struggle with PS@RIA and all the financial stressors coming this summer, this is a great reminder of why I love my job. I love our community and I am in awe of the fact that what I do, and what I dreamed makes DC a better place for families. Thank you Petit Scholars community and thank you Lisa Berardi Marflak for encouraging our families to vote.
