The and ’s research ties are stronger than ever! Last week we hosted our European Research Day 2023 at uOttawa to promote Europe as a research destination and highlight collaboration opportunities for researchers in Canada. Keynote remarks were delivered by the European Commission's EU Science & Innovation and Canada’s Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada, followed by presentations on services and Pillar I by your EURAXESS North America representatives.

A conversation followed on a panel with Britta Baron of European-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research - ECCIRR, Gina Soparlo of Mitacs, Dr. Milad Asgarpour Khansary of Friends of the MCAA - North America Chapter (and an Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions alumnus), and Dr. Kavanagh of DG RTD.

Amb. Eamonn McKee of the Irish Embassy to Canada delivered impactful closing remarks and a networking lunch followed that brought together attendees from various fields.

France Canada Research Fund 2024!

The France Canada Research Fund (FCRF) has just launched its 2024 call for proposals, open to all research fields. The FCRF is a major instrument of Franco-Canadian scientific cooperation, created in 2000 through an agreement between the French Embassy in Canada and a consortium of 23 Canadian universities.

In twenty years, the FCRF has financed over 400 collaborative research projects. The FCRF currently supports around 20 new projects each year; these projects are led by French and Canadian teams collaborating for the first time.

Laureates are awarded start-up grants of CAD $8,000 to $15,000 to fund research and student mobility between the two countries.

Deadline: Friday, November, 17th, 2023 at 11:59 PM PST.
