The USPPFOP thanks National FOP President Pat Yoes and
National Fraternal Order of Police for their support combating the US Department of the Interior anti-police rhetoric and
National Park Service neglect that plagues our agency!!! Hopefully, some change will happen soon! We urge President Joe Biden to take action now!!! Link to Twitter post: https://twitter.com/GLFOP/status/1712530150837862741
President Joe Biden promised to support labor unions- that doesn’t apply to our Law Enforcement Union. US Department of the Interior harbors anti-police managers, and National Park Service puts the safety of the public and our officers at risk. Flashback from last year, nothing has changed:https://wtop.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Hazardous-Conditions-07-03-22.pdf

USPP FOP on X and puts our Chief in a position of disadvantage. We’ve had 5 Chiefs over the past 4 years. NPS makes it impossible for anyone in that position to succeed. They cut our budget while we pay OT everyday to meet minimum staffing.
Police union demands firing of anti-cop Interior spokesman The police union that represents the U.S. Park Police today called on the Interior secretary to dump her chief spokesman for his online posting of anti-law enforcement rage.

On October 10th, Chairman Spencer sent a letter to Secretary Deb Haaland calling for Interior Spokesperson Tyler Cherry's immediate resignation for his extreme and dangerous anti-law enforcement views. Our officers deserve better from their leadership!!!
Over a year ago, we requested a meeting with Secretary Deb Haaland, so we could highlight United States Park Police staffing and operational concerns. This was one of many requests. We were ignored. Our budget was slashed. Crime continues to skyrocket.
Secretary Deb Haaland, we are more than a photo op. More than 50 officers were injured during the 2020 riots. US Department of the Interior and National Park Service could care less. Our staffing is less than it was in the 1970s. Your staff hates the police and we continue to suffer… (Concerning X / Twitter Post, see post image below)-
Tyler Cherry is Secretary Deb Haaland Official Spokesperson. He refers to police as “slave patrols” and claims we evolved “from lynch mobs.” Now we know why is letting our agency crumble. “Defund the Police” is alive and well at DOI; zero support. US Department of the Interior

Chairman Ken Spencer traveled to New York Monday to meet with USPP Management about the migrant camps slated to be in Fort Wadsworth and Floyd Bennett Field. Today, he attended a press conference Rep. Malliotakis (R-NY) held at the gates of Fort Wadsworth. Rep. Malliotakis and other New York elected officials oppose using NPS Areas for migrant camps because of safety concerns and because they violate laws that govern the NPS. Chairman Spencer and Rep Malliotakis have pledged to work together to stop the unsafe effects of migrant camps in National Park Areas and push for USPP pay parity with the USCP and the USSS-UD. We've shared a video of the press conference below. We thank Rep. Malliotakis for her efforts on this critical issue.
