Always a party on stage. The best comedy in DC. Everyone in a Menu show is damn funny and also damn nice. No jerks allowed! Why "District Menu"?

Because of the nature of the casting being sort of random (no troupes or teams) the players were not always aware who would be playing when they arrived. Early in the shows history a player (we think it was Katie Klein), asked "Who is on the Menu tonight?" Eric Koucheravy
With his offbeat sense of humor, dry cutting wit, and a demeanor that can only be described as optimistically nihilistic, Eric Koucheravy has performed standup all over the country. Starting off his comedy career in Richmond Virginia, he's graced the stages of Cozzy's Comedy Club in Newport News, the DC Drafthouse, Flappers in Burbank, CA, and the world famous DC Improv. From living rooms to club stages, he finds the funny in terrible jobs and serial killers, discusses his hatred of magicians, and how the Rolling Stones are actually well crafted Disney animatronics.

Suzi Barrett is improv royalty and she is coming to DC to teach and play.
She will be leading two workshops on Saturday December 9.

About Suzi:
She began in Chicago, as a student of The Second City and ImprovOlympic, and is a graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade training center in L.A. (where she currently teaches). Suzi spent three years as a member of the famed Boom Chicago sketch and improv ensemble in Amsterdam, and toured most of Europe with their touring company. She currently lives in L.A., where she plays with the UCB house team Sentimental Lady and the acclaimed two-person improv team Elephants Gerald (with Becky Drysdale), and frequently appears with ASSSSCAT, Gravid Water, Soundtrack, and UCB’s improvised musical: Diamond Lion. She is a member of the UCB national touring company, has appeared in over 30 national commercials, and writes for Funny or Die and ABC’s Wipeout.

Our Story

Why "Chinese Menu"?
Because of the nature of the casting being sort of random (no troupes or teams) the players were not always aware who would be playing when they arrived. Early in the shows history a player (we think it was Katie Klein), asked "Who is on the Menu tonight?" We liked the way it sounded and when we looked backstage at our de facto home of the DC Arts Center, there happened to be a menu for a Chinese Restaurant. It just seems like the universe was telling us something.
What is Chinese Menu?
Chinese Menu is all about having fun. Our stand up showcases bring out the best and our monthly improv mash up brings together groups of folks that don't usually play together and brings out the best players in DC that you just don't get a chance to see that much. It has jokingly and lovingly been called the "seniors tour" of the improv scene. These shows are also a destination for high level players when they come to town. Some of them are listed here:
