This year, We Feed Our People (WFOP) plans to serve 400 hot meals and distribute 200 bag lunches to the unhoused and underserved in our nation’s capital on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1) Donate clothing and toiletries. -- See posted flyer
Drop-off on Saturday and Sunday, January 13-14 at Paul Public Charter School (5800 8th St NW, Washington, DC 20011) between 9:00am – 2:00pm.

We are two weeks away from the 36th Annual We Feed Our People Weekend of Service. WFOP prepares a holiday meal and distribute clothing/toiletries to the unhoused and underserved in our nation's capital during the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. We will prepare a hot meal to feed 400 people and distribute 200 bag lunches to the unhoused this year . Please consider donating your time to WFOP. How you ask? I'm happy you asked. You may donate gloves, hats, socks, toiletries, gently worn winter clothing (shoes included). You may also make a monetary donation. WFOP is a 100% volunteer grassroots organization and all proceeds go to the Annual Day of Service event. We'll be posting volunteer registration this week. More than a day off, is the catalyst behind the community based coalition of concerned individuals and organizations formed in Washington, DC in 1988 to commemorate the works and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by reaching out to those most vulnerable the homeless.
Mark your calenders for WFOP 2024 (January 13-15, 2024). We are finalizing details and will post soon.
The team had a very productive debrief last week. We are excited about the plans for the remainder of 2023 and already planning for WFOP 2024.

Our second service site was at the Southeast Veterans Center where we were honored to serve our nation's vets with a hot meal. They also had a chance to go shopping for coats and health care kits.
The day of service has finally arrived. We delivered and served hot meals and soup at Bailey's Crossroads Shelter in Northern Virginia. We also distributed coats, clothes, and toiletries.
We see Ransom Miller (Project GiveBack) and team cooking the soup that we know will be a hit at Bailey's Crossroads Shelter today!
Because of your donations, we're able to distribute coats, socks, scarves, hats, clothing, and toiletries to those in need tomorrow. Thank you!
