On the 20th anniversary of September 11th and the attacks on our country, we remember Paul Ambrose, MD, MPH; APTR Luther Terry Fellow and the almost 3,000 lives lost. Following his vision, the APTR Paul Ambrose Scholars Program supports leadership development for students pursuing careers in preventive medicine and public health.

Our Story

The Paul Ambrose Scholars Program prepares public health and clinical health professions students to promote change and be leaders in addressing population health challenges at the national and community level. Each year, the Paul Ambrose Scholars Program selects a cohort of 40 students from across the health professions to attend a Student Leadership Symposium. Students commit their time and effort to improve health within their communities through the planning and implementation of a community-based project. The Paul Ambrose Scholars Program helps students cultivate leadership and organizational skills in public health education outside of the classroom.
