This effort was in alignment with our 2023-2024 Black Youth Agenda campaign to bring more health resources to communities. We're so proud of our youth and their organizing! โœŠ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’•

Our November theme is Youth on Mental Health and Healthcare. Last week, we carried out a service project in alignment with our Black Youth Agenda campaign called, โ€œHear Us, Heal Us.โ€œ We packaged up 150 hygiene and 150 safe s*x toolkits to pass out. The hygiene toolkits contained deodorant wipes, soap, toothpaste/brush, and wipes. The safe s*x toolkits contained hygiene items plus dental dams, condoms, l**e and a paper on how to properly put on a condom. Youth helped through packing materials, made a brochure on consent and a resource list that they distributed to their peers with mental and s*xual health resources. This was a successful mutual aid project and taught our youth the importance of health and wellness for all! This project also reflected youthโ€™s Black Youth Agenda demands for better, closer and more affordable healthcare as well as improving DC's comprehensive s*x education curriculum.ย Youth did that! โœŠ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘
