District - Boy Scouts of America + National Capital Area Council, BSA for his many years of service to Scouting and the youth of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and and all the Scouts and families of Scouts BSA Troop 98, Cub Scout Pack 98, and Crew 98! Deacon Feeley continues his Scouting service as the Chartered Organization Representative to all three units!

On Nov 20th Scouts BSA Troop 98 celebrated our newest Justin Clark during his Eagle Scout Court of Honor! A Junior at School Without Walls, Justin is looking to study Computer Science in college and one day own a game design company. Congratulations to Justin as well as all of our other Scouts who received recognition during our Fall Court of Honor

During our collection day yesterday the Scouts from Scouts BSA Troop 98, Cub Scout Pack 98, Crew 98, Boy Scout Troop 257, and Cheverly Cub Scout Pack 257 collected, weighed, sorted, and shelved over 5,178 pounds of food for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church's emergency food pantry to help our neighbors!

Join us next Saturday at the National Capital Scout Shop in the Marriott Scout Service Center in Bethesda, MD, or the Northern Virginia Scout Shop in Springfield, VA for special events on Saturday, May 6, 2023! NCAC Camp Staff will be at both locations to answer questions and talk about camp – what to expect, what to bring, etc. – so Scouts and leaders can learn everything they need to know about their upcoming camp adventure. If you are thinking about camp, this is the perfect opportunity to learn all about this summer’s possibilities!



At the same time, Scout Shop staff will be available to provide backpack fittings, camping gear demonstrations, and campsite set-up with a shop section for 10 Basic Essentials for Hiking/Camping, displays of class B activity t-shirts/camp hats, and lots more. Scouts can also pick up their “Get Ready for Camp” packing checklists.

Troop 98, Pack 98, Troop 257 & Pack 257 collected over 3700 (and counting!) pounds of food yesterday during the annual Scouting For Food drive. This food went to the St. Anthony's of Padua Food Pantry and will help hundreds of people put food on their tables! THANK YOU to everyone who donated their time and resources to make this happen!

Troop 98 had a very busy end of Scouting year! This past weekend part of the Troop went on a Backpacking trip to Gathland State Park; Plus a set of younger Scouts went on their first Camping trip at Greenbelt Campground; We ended the year with our Court of Honor where we recognized our Adult Leadership and our Scouts' accomplishments including Apollo Pierce, Troop 98s newest Eagle Scout! Thank you all for a GREAT Scouting year!!

All our invited to help celebrate the patron saint of the parish of the chartering organization of Scouts BSA Troop 98 and Cub Scout Pack 98 -- and you're invited to join in the fun of a great spaghetti dinner at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church this coming Saturday, June 11 from 5 to 7 PM at Margot Hall! This weekend Troop 98 Scouts and Scouters came together to assist Henry F. work on his Eagle Scout Service Project 🦅. They built new shelves for the St Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church Pantry. Congratulations Henry on organizing a great project! Thanks to everyone who came out to help!

Congratulations to Scouts BSA Troop 98's Max Behrens - who received the District Award of Merit from our Washington, D.C. District - Boy Scouts of America this Tuesday night.

The District Award of Merit recognizes Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level and is the highest honor that a district can give to a Scouter.

Scouting Trivia! The District Award of Merit while technically referred to as a square knot, it’s really an overhand knot. (Or a pretzel.) :) And it’s one of just three BSA square knots that isn’t actually a square knot. Do you know the other two?
