Our Story

The DC Monarchs Youth Sports Organization is a 501c3 charitable organization with the vision to use sports as the vehicle to develop a disciplined youth with strong character and work ethics. Recognizing the value and impact of competitive sports in the lives of Washington, D.C. Metropolitan youth, our organization was established in April 2010 with the mission to teach fundamental basketball skills to student-athletes while preparing them to play on a High School & College level.

To achieve our mission, we coordinate a yearlong sports program that is designed to develop the basketball skills of aspiring athletes between the ages of six (6) and seventeen (17) in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

We organize, train and coach teams that are able to compete with other surrounding junior programs in elite level competition in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), United States Basketball Association (USBA) and other recognized state and local tournaments.

The administrations and coaches are advocates for academic success and an aggressive style of basketball that emphasizes hard work and personal responsibility. Academic success is a priority for student-athletes that participate in our basketball program. Coaches encourage student-athletes to make good decisions utilizing the team sport of basketball as a channel to teach life-changing skills.

Our goal is simple; we want to give student-athletes the best opportunity to be successful in life. The basketball program is planned and implemented so that parents will have the utmost assurance of knowing that they can trust the future of their child with our organization.
