Does your District of Columbia Public School have enough custodians?
The building industry has standards for cleaning levels in school buildings. Level 2 cleaning recommended for schools is 20,000 gross square feet for an 8 hour custodial shift. DCPS custodians are not only responsible for cleaning but for doing level one maintenance.
This describes level one maintenance. It includes electrical, painting, ground maintenance and cleaning. An RW5 custodian has 24 hour responsibilities.
