Today, we commemorate the 12th anniversary of a tragic event that reshaped our community forever in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. We mourn the loss of seven cherished lives, reflecting on the enduring pain and challenges that have arisen since that fateful day.

The memories of August 5th, 2012 remind us of the ongoing challenges we face as Sikhs in America. However, our community’s resilience shines through. Let us unite in our faith and continue to work towards creating an inclusive world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. 🙏🏽

Raj Singh Badhesha has officially made history as the FIRST Sikh appointed to the Fresno Superior Court Bench!

“Wanting to be a judge and run a courtroom was something that I grew into. Because when I began my journey, a practicing Sikh like myself could not gain admission into a courthouse," said Judge Badhesha, who will also continue to wear his kirpan during his term.

“This is absolutely historic, not just for the Asian American community, but for the future multiracial America that we are barreling towards,” Sara Sadhwani, a senior researcher at the civic research organization .

Biden was losing Asian American voters. Will they support Harris? Asian American voters say they’re excited about the possibility of seeing someone who shares their background potentially lead the country. But they have some reservations, too.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, including permitted demonstrations scheduled near the event location, SALDEF has made the difficult decision to postpone Langar on the Hill, originally scheduled for July 24th.
