As hate and extremism rise, the need to protect our democratic norms and values has never been more urgent.

Moderated by Yolanda Savage-Narva of the Union for Reform Judaism, this discussion features insights from Congressman Jamie Raskin, Amy Spitalnick of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, and Maya Wiley of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.

“The High Holidays are defined by the concept of teshuva, a spiritual process in which we identify all the ways we’ve become lost and commit to finding a way back to ourselves. More than ever, this year we need the forced reflection of this season to help us make sense of where we’ve been, where we are, and where we may be headed.” - Rabbi Aaron

Read more about this year’s High Holidays theme at sixthandi.org/highholidays and explore our offerings. Tickets are on sale now for services at Sixth & I with Rabbi Aaron and services at Calvary Baptist Church with Rabbi Esther Lederman.

During last night’s talk with Ari Shapiro, the singer and social activist made us laugh and cry as she shared her favorite memories with other famous singers, a few of her poems, and the last song she wrote over 40 years ago (“Coconuts”).
