Rescuing food has so many benefits. When food decomposes in landfills with no oxygen, it releases harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. For us, we rescued enough food to keep over 23 million pounds of greenhouse gases out of our atmosphere.

"One of my most meaningful moments was watching this big smile on my son's face as we dressed him in his MEANS onesie. We had received it from the team as a gift for Jude's birth and were waiting for the day he is finally big enough to wear it.

Since his birth, I've been working remotely, and the MEANS team has been extremely gracious during this first year of parent/child adjustment. As this year comes to an end, I had to take this moment to thank the MEANS team for allowing me and giving me permission to thrive as a development professional and a mom while still being present and raising my son healthy and happy.

For this MEANingful moment, and so much more, my sincerest gratitude." - Suzy Mahjoub, Development Director

Food insecurity has increased in the USA from 10.2% in 2021 to 12.8% in 2022.

In a nation of abundance, food insecurity should not exist. None of our neighbors, community, or children should ever question where their next meal is coming from. There's more we need to do.
