We hope to see you at UC Global Health Day 2024 on March 7th, 2024! Stay in beautiful Los Angeles through the weekend to hear from Center for Planetary Health Co-Director, Sam Ying, PhD and colleagues during their breakout panel discussion, Water Equity and Health, at CUGH () on March 8th, 2024.

As the world’s population grows, the freshwater resources required to sustain its rising populations are not keeping up. The inequity in safe drinking water access results in health disparities in communities on a global scale.

This expert panel will take an interdisciplinary, multi-scale view of water equity and will discuss the issues surrounding water inequity in California and Latin America and their impact on health disparities. The panel will close with a discussion of some potential long and short-term solutions and future directions.
