Happy New Year! It's been a challenging year but sometimes challenges lead to growth in unexpected ways. We are taking a much needed hibernation until January 17th when we'll resume wholesale production and delivery. Retail TBD. Looking forward to 2022!

It's our last week here at the pop-up and we've got a special holiday treat for all good coffee nerds. Freshly roasted from in Oslo Norway comes some very tasty coffee to keep you warm, cozy, and caffeinated over the break. These are retail bags for sale of the "Christmas Edition" Echemo. A single origin coffee from the Coche Forest of Ethiopia, this coffee is light, elegant, and sure to please those looking for a sweet and fruity coffee in their lives. We're open the 21st and 22nd of December at the corner of 17th and M from 7:30-2.

Let's talk Coffee.

Number 1: We work with roasters who take action to bring value upstream the supply chain. Coffee, like many agricultural commodities, is inherently exploitive to the people living in the less developed countries where it is grown. All roasters we work with make public the prices they pay farmers for the green coffee purchased. This gives farmers more bargaining power and fosters longer term mutually beneficial relationships between the roaster and producer.

Number 2: We are fanatical about consistency, and work with roasters who feel the same way. There is no point to buying high quality coffee if that quality can't be tasted in the final cup. Every step from picking to brewing must have preserving the quality of the fruit as the priority. Any mistakes are irreversible.

At our popup we are serving two coffees on draft. Our draft system is a tool to serve a consistent cup, hot or cold.

One coffee is a blend of Colombians and Ethiopian coffees called "Monarch" from in Northwest Arkansas. This coffee has a traditional flavor profile of dark chocolate, toasted nuts and dried fruit.

The second is a single origin coffee called "Fahem" grown by Mohammed Lalo in Limmu Ethiopia and roasted by in Oslo Norway. This coffee is roasted lightly in the Nordic style, to emphasize the sweetness, flavor and complexity present in the coffee fruit. It has refreshing notes of green apple and fresh herbs.

Stop on by, taste them both and see which you like. We are open are our popup on the corner of M and 17th Street NW Tues-Thurs from 7:30 to 2.

We're serving two very special coffees on draft at our 17th Street popup. On the left we have the Monarch blend from roasted in NW Arkansas. It's a medium roast degree with a lovely dark chocolate finish. On the left is the Fahem Single Origin from roasted in Oslo Norway. It has delicate notes of citrus and herbs, and is surprisingly refreshing. Come try them both on tap 🔥 HOT 🔥 or ❄️ CHILLED ❄️

If you’ve been drinking our growlers or minikegs over the past months, you may have noticed our labels have changed from Alchemist Coffee Company to Chyrus. The reason is we are rebranding - same coffee, same people, new name! We endeavor to make “Chyrus” embody our values of ecological sustainability and supply chain transparency. In addition, we have launched a new website which we hope will make it easier to bring you complex, sweet, and transparently sourced coffee.
