Jay and Lisa Jones, owners of Bean Tree Cafe, have been small business owners for over 13 years. Over the years, they have found themselves ingrained in the community in ways that go beyond serving coffee and omelets.

Meet Rhonda.

Having spent over ten years working at the Valmeyer State Bank branch, Rhonda is a familiar face and greets most customers by name and with a friendly wave. This is one of her favorite aspects of the job; she truly enjoys getting to know her fellow employees, the customers they serve, and being part of the close-knit Valmeyer community.

Outside of work, Rhonda spends as much time as she can with her husband, their grown children, and grandchildren. They enjoy taking family vacations to Branson and watching dirt track racing.

State Bank presented two Gibault Catholic High School seniors - Krona Newton and Lucy Range - with scholarships today, May 17.

Krona placed first, earning a $1,500 award per academic school year for four years. Lucy placed second, winning a one-time award of $1,000.

Each year, State Bank awards a scholarship to two students from each high school in Monroe County.
