Back to School Parent Update 24-25 Principal's Message: Great Start of the Year!

Day 1 with our kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders is a WRAP!

We didn’t take very many pictures, but these kids are so much fun! They’re doing great at learning expectations of the classroom, lunch room, and all the other school places! Of course, we had some fun recesses too!

There are going to be some tired kids tonight! Can’t wait to do this again on Monday with ALL of our students!

Kindergarten 1:35, 1st 1:40 & 2nd at 1:43. Please call the office with questions at 319-433-2210.

Tomorrow!!! 8/23 is the first day for our kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders ONLY (3,4,5- you’re next 😉)

Breakfast starts at 8:20 and class begins right at 8:45!

And don’t forget- school is dismissed 2 hours early at 1:45!!!

Change this year: we will be serving breakfast in the cafeteria. If you want your child to eat at school, please have them arrive at 8:20 so they are ready for school to start at 8:45. We are excited to welcome back our k-2nd students this Friday and 3rd-5th graders on Monday!

NEW this year- we have a new back to school schedule. We're still doing the rolling start (K,1,2 start on Friday and 3,4,5 start on Monday) but NEW this year, the first 3 days will be 2 hour early dismissals!

Pay is $17.46 - $19.42 per hour and hours are 8:20-3:50 M-F

Children who are five years old on or before September 15 are eligible for Kindergarten starting
with the 2024-25 school year. Registration needs to be done by the legal parent/guardian.

ALL RETURNING STUDENTS
Students that ended the 2023-24 school year in a Waterloo School, those that have been
approved for Preschool and those that have already completed Kindergarten Registration for

Annual updates for current Waterloo Schools Students will start July 10, 2024

Once you are logged in, click “More” under the Message Center, then “Online Registration”.
All returning students must register and provide current proof of address. Acceptable forms for

It is important that you complete this as soon as possible. Completing Annual Updates help us
with busing, change of address, emergency contacts, required annual forms, new health
information, etc.

Kingsley families! Come join us while we walk (or ride!) in the My Waterloo Day's Parade TONIGHT!!!

Kingsley is entry 33 and will meet on Washington St, between W. 3rd & Park. Float prep starts at 4:30, with the parade starting at 6:00 pm.

Parents- please expect to remain with your children for the length of the parade!

Please wear Kingsley shirts and bring your best parade wave!
