The NYS Office of Community Renewal sent a notice Wednesday that Watervliet was awarded a $50,000 CDBG Planning Grant from NYS OCR to perform a water supply assessment and leak study for the 17-mile-long transmission main from Guilderland Reservoir to the Watervliet Filter Plant. The Transmission Main was constructed in 1915-18 and had some repairs in the 1930’s. There have been leaks from time to time. The results of the study will provide a comprehensive look at transmission main’s condition and provide information that can be used to address any future maintenance and repair needs of the transmission line infrastructure.

Where do I vote on Tuesday?
Some of the voting areas changed. If you are on the south side of the Arsenal everyone votes at the Elks lodge.
The north side did change so for your convenience, we made up these maps to help you find your voting location. It is either the AOH, Watervliet Senior Center or the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish center.

With no Equinox deliveries, Watervliet plans to provide Thanksgiving dinners With Equinox not delivering meals this Thanksgiving, the city of Watervliet is trying to fill the void. They had a planning meeting at the Arsenal City Tavern.

Paving continues
Our contractor milled most of the area on 23rd St and also 26th st early this morning.
They expect to pave 26th st tomorrow afternoon and then will start 23rd st tomorrow night, after the heavy traffic is over.

In add, the contractor is working on the road and parking area at Hudson Shores park.

The Town of Colonie and the City of Watervliet are working together to repave 1st, as we did with 8th Ave. We honestly can’t remember the last time it was paved and does it show it needed it desperately.

Plans are to put the binding coat down next week followed by the installation of some handicapped corners then the final layer.

On Friday I attended a tour and press conference on the planned improvements and development here at the Watervliet Arsenal. We were joined by Commander of the Arsenal Col.
