This week we had four damaged stain glass windows replaced by our local stain glass experts. Michael and Paulette Ross owners and specialist from Liturgical Environments Co. were hired to do this project. They specialize in architectural glass for places of worship, leaded glass, faceted glass and carved glass. Their business is located in Hayward. Wisconsin.

We were very fortunate to have them do our small project at the museum. The project started over a year ago when we noticed cracks in four panes of our stain glass windows. We began to do research and searched for experts to fix the window panes. Doing such work is a true art and very few artist still work at this profession. We were so lucky find the specialist, but also so close to our community. Getting funding for the project began. Thanks to generous donations for this project we finally got on the schedule to have our project of replacement of the damaged windows. All four windows were replaced and finished this week.
Here are a few photos of Liturgical Environments Co. removing the windows and replacing with the new

The Museum will be closed for the season. We want to thank all the volunteers that spent so much time, energy and love to create and enhance the local history of our community.

Over the next few months we will continue to work on funding so we can upgrade the building. Our to do list includes installation of a furnace so over the winter we can heat the building so more structure damage of the interior and contents will not be occurring. Also purchasing the fuel for the furnace.
We have some stain glass windows that need repairing. Both projects are expensive.
We have received some private donations but in need of more financial support to get these projects completed.

Alfred Trepania donated land to build a church for the local people. Franciscan missionary priests organized the 1st catholic community in Springbrook. They served as missionary priest to the community. The church was built by local volunteers and completed in 1906. Same building stands today. In 1984 the catholic diocese closed the small church because of lack of clergy to serve the mission church. The church was sold for $1.00 to the Washburn Historical Society. It then became the church museum. It is served by local volunteers and open to the public Friday (1 pm to 6 pm) and Saturday (10 am to 3 pm). Displays include local military, logging, Native American, early school days, community and home exhibits as well as church exhibits. Free admission. All are welcome to stroll down our local history and enjoy the exhibits.
