Is the popularity of the open floor concept waning? Data from the American Institute of Architects supports a cooling off trend towards open floor concepts, with 33% open concept requests in 2021 compared to 56% in 2018. However, we’d like to make a case for the enfilade: a French Baroque alignment of all the doorways in a series or suite of rooms as to create a vista when the doors are open.

Much of the structure is underground.
