NTC Residential Building
The Residential Building program is a one year technical diploma program where students spend 4 to 7 hours per day, building an off-campus home.
The Northcentral Technical College (NTC) Residential Building technical diploma program provides practical, hands-on learning opportunities for students preparing to enter the residential construction field. Student responsibilities will include framing to finishing an on-site built new home including electrical, heating and ventilation. Students will gain knowledge in “whole house” sustainable building practices in cooperation with Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes and Green Built Home.
Bittersweet day today. Last day for the RB Program at Ntc. Thanks for a fantastic year. It’s been a blast. You’ve come a long way from that first week. God Bless.
Thanks again Joe for all the knowledge you’ve passed on to me over the years.
Thanks to Greenheck fans for donating our super quiet bath fans which Mr. Nagen also tests to meet focus on energy standards.
One of my favorite days of the year. Joe Nagen from Focus on Energy came over to do a blower door test to certify our home this year. To be focus on energy certified the blower door test has to be .20 or lower. Well, our fantastic crew sealed the house so well we came in at .07 which ties for the all time tightest house in RB history. Awesome job crew.
And a huge thank you to Mr. Mark Dillman, the best designer in central Wisconsin. This project would not be half as successful without his knowledge, wisdom, insight and expertise.
A big thank you to County Materials, Kolbe Windows and the marketing team at Wausau Supply. County Material donated the stone and the concrete for the flatwork. Kolbe Windows donated the windows. The marketing team at Wausau Supply coordinated all the exterior colors. We were the first ones to install their brand new LP Smartside color Caribou with complementing LP Trim in the color French Grey.
Thanks for a great graduation day class. We almost had the whole crew. That was a blast. Just like the whole year has been.
Thank you to everyone who came to the Residential Building class of 2019 program home open house. What a great turnout. It was very meaningful for the students.
Students were busy cleaning all day today. The open house is tomorrow and open to the public. Bring a friend. 4 to 6 at 7308 Stonefield Trail in Rothschild.
Getting ready for the open house on Thursday.
What a beautiful day to get some finishing touches done on the exterior. Or take a nap in the sun.
Everything really came together nicely this week. Great job crew. It’s going to be sad when we’re finished. Last full week next week.

Stone guys showed up today also and started prepping for the stone. Thanks Joe.
Busy day at the job site. The plumbers came, got the water running and installed the sinks and toilets. Thanks Elite plumbing.
A lot of odd jobs to be finished in the next couple weeks.
The end of the week picture was pretty sparse yesterday. Another superb week at the job site.
While poor Michael had to work on the deck with his instructor today.
Busy day at the job site today. Randy Gilray of Gilray Heating and Cooling worked with the crew installing ductwork this week. Thanks Randy.

Dillon framing in the posts for the front deck.
The crew’s working so hard we should be finished with the siding next week. Unless it rains/snows all week. Oh well, we had a beautiful week this week.
The crew keeps cranking out the exterior on a beautiful day.
