Meet Piano Faculty and Conservatory alum, Lynn Roginske! Lynn earned her bachelors and master's at WCM when we granted degrees and now proudly serves on our faculty, and she taught music in Milwaukee Public Schools for over 25 years. Lynn also specializes in adaptive lessons, and is always ready to perform a beautiful original arrangement at events and performances!
There is still 1 week left to register for our Summer Jazz Camp! Students entering the 6th - 12th grade can sign up for a week of interactive workshops with WCM's Jazz & Contemporary Music Faculty from Monday, July 8th through Friday, July 12 and immerse themselves in improvisation and theory sessions, Samba Percussion, and special topics! "Piano Trio" can mean 3 pianists playing together, but more often, it means a trio made up of a violinist, cellist, and pianist. Check out a student piano trio from WCM's Chamber Music Institute, playing the finale of Shostakovich's 2nd Piano Trio at the Helen Daniels Bader Recital on May 15 at Congregation Emanu-El B'Ne Jeshurun.

Jasmin has extensive performing and teaching experience, and earned her degrees from Vanderbilt University and Indiana University.

Locally hosted classical music has returned to the Milwaukee area radio scene!
Wisconsin Public Radio has launched its new WPR Music network which is broadcast on 90.7 WHAD -FM locally and on 19 other radio stations across the state, and marks the first time in 17 years that southeastern Wisconsin has a full-time classical broadcast service.
Classical music will be the foundation of the new network, with live hosts in WPR's Milwaukee and Madison studios., and the network will include locally produced folk and world music shows on weekends, plus jazz on Friday nights!

Join us at our Downtown location this weekend for the 2024 PianoArts Competition & Music Festival, held all day long on May 30 - 31 and June 1 & 3. The finale will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at the Bradley Symphony Center.
This year's competition will include semifinalists' solo and duo recitals with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra violinists and cellists, and the finalists will have the chance to perform with MSO Conductor Yaniv Danur!

Today's Excerpt Friday clip comes from WCM student Daniel Cooper and world-renowned pianist and composer Aaron Diehl in last week's master class. Aaron specializes in stride piano and early jazz, and he performed his stride and ragtime program last weekend at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts!
We can't wait to host the special "Musical Opportunities in the United States Armed Forces" session with two WCM Alumni – trumpeter Alexander "Alec" Aldred, and guitarist Tomas Antonic – at our Audubon Court location next week Thursday!
Staff Sergeant Alec Aldred is based in Washington, DC, and performs with the US Army Band Pershing's Own and the US Army Blues, the Army's premier Jazz Ensemble.
Senior Airman Tomas Antonic is stationed with the Air Force Bands in Europe at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. He was previously in the Air Force Bands of the Golden West at Travis AFB in California.
Alec and Tomas will speak about their positions in their units, what led them to join the military, and share some of their experiences serving in the US Armed Forces, and a jam session will follow!
