Student of the Week, Ava Gosz, is an 8th grader at St. Jude, and is currently working on the Largo movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony. She also enjoys crafts and drawing. Great job Ava!

Playing piano for Wauwatosa West's production of Frozen - sophomore, Lucy Deutsch! One of two pianists in the musical, Lucy is busy preparing and rehearsing 21 songs she will be accompanying on for the show.

And the Duke of Weselton, Evan Hryniewicki! Congratulations to all WSOM students in the cast, crew, and pit. Can't wait!

Congratulations to Henry (King Agnarr) and Brett (Olaf) for being cast in Wauwatosa West High School's production of Frozen - the only high school in Wisconsin to be chosen to produce this Broadway musical!

Scholarships for private lessons now available!
The WSOM scholarship program is funded by individuals in the community who have learned to play a musical instrument and want to make the opportunity available to children who otherwise may not be able to afford lessons on their own.
Learning how to play a musical instrument brings a sense of accomplishment and joy that should be available to all.

Xavier Holzen is our Student of the Week! An 8th grader at Whitman Middle School, Xavier is currently learning slide guitar ("What Is Life" George Harrison) with his teacher, Brendan. His favorite band is Green Day, and when he's not playing guitar, he loves playing and watching baseball. Keep up the great work Xavier!

We use the Musikgarten curriculum for all of our early childhood music classes. As the leader in early childhood music education, Musikgarten offers a complete educational program that helps infants, toddlers, and children develop a deep love of music and an ability to express it.

Congratulations to Caleb, our Student of the Week! A 7th grader at St. Sebastian, he is currently working on Black Sabbath's classic, "War Pigs", in addition to Alan Dawson's "Rudimental Ritual" and Charley Wilcoxon's snare solos. Recognized by Yanni for his ongoing, excellent practice habits and growing musicianship, Caleb is also a formidable Minecraft player!

Congratulations to WSOM Student of the Week, Clarence! A 3rd grader at St. Dominic, Clarence has been working on Built To Spill's "Fool's Gold" and Stick Control. His teacher, Mr. Yanni, has also touted Clarence's "baseball genius", in addition to his ongoing growth as a drummer. Way to go Clarence!

Congratulations to John - our Student Of The Week! A 6th grader at Longfellow Middle School who is currently working on Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", Ben picked John for his ongoing focus during lessons, practice habits, and overall "rocking of the drums".
