Today we got to celebrate Mr. Johnson - our WSA Teacher of the Year and Waxahachie ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year - at the Region 10 celebration! It was a great afternoon of food and fellowship! Mr. Johnson also walked away with a bag full of goodies! 🤩👏

Wilemon Leadership Retreat with our WSA grade level/specials leaders, counselor, and admin! We missed Mrs. Murphey and Mrs. Rodriguez! There are GREAT things in store for this school year! We can’t wait! 🤩 Waxahachie ISD

Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Shelli Davis visited more of our new students recently! The smiles are the best! We still have more houses to visit! We can’t wait to see our students back at WSA soon! 🤩

Wilemon families, the YMCA will be offering after school care at WSA for the upcoming school year! Check out the attached flyer for more details!

Also, starting tomorrow - July 22nd - the registration fee is waived until July 25th. If you have any questions about the YMCA after school care, please contact the YMCA directly.

Mrs. Nutt and Mrs. Elias were busy learning last week at CAMT (Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching) in San Antonio! They had fun learning and can’t wait to bring it back to our staff! 🤩

Mrs. Authier kicked off one of our favorite annual traditions yesterday - visiting our new students at their homes! We drop off Wilemon goodies, chat with our incoming students and their families, and get our students excited about the new year! Mrs. Nelson is starting visits as well! More pictures to come! Mrs. Reeves has been working hard on her Masters in STEM Education and will graduate in August! She is finishing up her courses this summer. She has also maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her studies! Way to go Mrs. Reeves! Learning never stops! Waxahachie ISD 🤩👏

This week Mrs. Authier, Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Johnson, and Mrs. Johnson presented at the TEPSA (Texas Elementary Principal and Supervisors Association) Conference in Round Rock! They shared all about Wilemon and STEAM learning!

They also learned great ideas to bring back to our school! Other Waxahachie ISD elementary leaders attended as well, and they all learned together! 🤩

Thank you to our WATCH DOGS leader, Mr. Engelbrechtsen, for your service to our program and school! We enjoyed having you volunteer on our last day of school, which was also your sweet daughter’s last day at Wilemon! We know Jette will do amazing things in junior high and beyond!

Last Thursday we celebrated and thanked Mrs. Becky Wilson for serving as the Wilemon STEAM Academy PTO president since our school opened in 2018. Mrs. Wilson established the PTO, setting up everything that goes with it! She has always been eager to serve and willing to do whatever she can to ensure our students, staff, and families have the very best!

We cheered for her as she walked the hallways, gave her a token of our appreciation, and installed a plaque in our front office. Thank you Mrs. Wilson for all that you have done! 🤩👏 Waxahachie ISD

This Friday several of our staff members traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to visit the Ron Clark Academy! They represented WSA at RCA! They have so many awesome ideas to bring back to Wilemon! Mrs. Garrison, Mrs. Elias, Mrs. Rodriguez, Mrs. Bray, Mr. Burkhalter, Mr. Green, Mrs. Davidson, and Mrs. Nelson can’t wait to kick off the 22-23 school year on fire!

A lot of our staff have visited RCA over the last four years and it has made a BIG positive impact on our campus! Thank you Wilemon STEAM Academy PTO for helping pay for this adventure!

Congratulations to Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Johnson, and Mrs. Nutt on receiving Waxahachie ISD Education Foundation Grants! Thank you to the foundation for supporting us! Virtual reality and vermicomposting - here we come!! 🤩👏

We wrapped up another awesome year at Wilemon today! These are some pictures over the past week or so! We will miss our wonderful students, and we wish them an amazing summer! We can’t wait to see them back next year! For those moving on, we hope you come back and visit! 🤩

Our fifth grade classes made their last walk through the Wilemon halls this morning to the cheers of parents and all of our students! We are very proud of them and all that they will accomplish in junior high! They will be missed at WSA! Waxahachie ISD
