We are very proud of our very own Dyslexia guru and teacher - Mrs. Mendoza - for presenting and serving on a panel at the Region 10 Education Service Center Dyslexia Summer Institute!

She spoke on strategies and tools related to “Empowering Dyslexia Students to Reach Their Full Potential.” Way to go Mrs. Mendoza!! Waxahachie ISD

Mrs. Authier and Mrs. Nelson enjoyed learning together this week at their Waxahachie ISD district leadership meetings this week and training today! They are excited for a GREAT school year at WSA!

The first grade team had popsicles and fun at The Avenue splash pad yesterday evening! Shout out to the first grade team for planning this! So much fun!

Mrs. Koenig and her family recently had a blast on their vacation! They visited amazing places such as Mt. Rushmore, Jackson Hole, and Grand Teton National Park!

Mrs. Davidson and her family recently went on vacation to Kansas City! They had a blast going to several places including a Royals game and Science City in Union Station!

Last night, our young authors had their very own book signing event hosted by Brownie Booksand O'Brien's Bookshop! They had a great crowd come in to get their books signed! We’re so proud of them!! You can get a copy at O’Brien’s Bookshop or Amazon! We would like to say a special thank you to Brownie Books and our Wilemon PTO for such an amazing opportunity for our students!

The Gibbons family recently had a blast on their South Padre Island trip, right before the storm! They beached it for a few days and another day they rode out for a dolphin watch! ☀️🏝️⛱️ 🐬

Today Mrs. Songer, Mrs. Authier, and Mrs. Nelson presented at the Texas Elementary Principals & Supervisors Association Summer Conference! They enjoyed sharing innovative technology integration ideas with their peers - robotics, 3D printing, book trailers, and more! Mrs. Songer rocked it with sharing all of the wonderful tech integration in the library! Mrs. Slone was scheduled to attend, but wasn’t able to be there, so they presented her part as well! Definitely missed Mrs. Slone though, as she is the robotics guru! We love sharing the awesome things happening at WSA with others! Waxahachie ISD

At the end of the year quite a few of our teachers did a YES Day with their students! We snagged this picture of Mrs. Culbreth and the ladies in her class wearing matching pajamas! Thank you to Mrs. Lopez (parent) for purchasing them! What a great surprise!

How about Potato Olympics on the last day of school? Mrs. Lopez and Mrs. Elias’s students decorated and named their potatoes and then competed in events like bobsledding, gymnastics, and the long row- they measured their potatoes height, weight and circumference and then predicted how their potatoes would do in each event!
