Thanks to our great fosters Victoria & Jeremy for fostering Pepper & Snowstorm & for completing this adoption in their home.

Spay/Neuter had a very special adoption today! Snowstorm (gray tabby) was the last of his litter looking for a new home. Pepper (brown tabby) was abandoned in an apartment at 4 months old when the family moved out. They bonded almost immediately. Thanks to their new family they can stay together and will be joining 2 other rescued cats that are close in age. Congrats on your new home and new family babies! 🥰

These four babies have a great family and their mom continues to be a huge supporter of our rescue. We are very appreciative of everything she continues to do for us, but we are especially glad these kitties have such a loving home.

47th Annual Apple Days Arts and Craft Show is Sat., Oct. 15 from 9am til 5pm & Sun. Oct. 16 from 12pm til 5pm in Willow Oak Plaza at 901 West Broad St. in Waynesboro, VA. https://www.facebook.com/AppleDaysCraftShow/

We have had a few obstacles to overcome this year getting this to happen—postponement due of rain, and then having to move people around because of blocked locations due to the fire in Willow Oak Plaza. Thankfully the damage was minimal and the building was empty.

These shows are a lot of work setting up, spending one or both days, & tearing down/repacking what you have left each day.
Stop by & support these local artists, crafters, vendors, & nonprofits who worked so hard getting ready for Apple Days. Get something nice for yourself or do some early Christmas shopping for a friend or family member. You can even get something nice for your four legged family members. If you have a sweet tooth or love good food, Apple Days is definitely the place to be.

Thanks to everyone setting up & to everyone that comes out to support them by purchasing some of the great things they have for sale. It looks like it is shaping up to be a great fall weekend.

Billy Arey was a wonderful fur dad and a very sweet man. The news of his passing is heartbreaking to so many people that knew him. I met Billy years ago when Spay/Neuter, Inc. was doing pet photos with Santa. He had Hogan & Sweet Pea at that time. Very sweet pit bulls. Hogan destroyed every toy we gave him to play with while trying to take his pictures. Billy carried Sweet Pea in thrown over his shoulder because she was so afraid. The year after that when he brought them for pictures, he also had Pearl. Billy loved those dogs & they were our favorites to take pictures of. The rescue world has lost an amazing advocate and his family lost a very caring man. I’m so very sorry for your loss Yvette Sholes Arey. Gone much too soon. RIP Billy.💔🌈

Spay/Neuter, Inc. has had some repeat adopters lately, which is great.

Night was adopted by former adopters who have also become fosters for us. In addition to his mom & little sister, Night has lots of fur family to keep him company.

Dusk was adopted by a family who has become a great supporter of our rescue. Dusk also has additional fur family to keep her company.

Ricky was adopted by a great family that adopted Pete (now Tucker) from us earlier this year. Tucker is a wild man but Ricky should be able to handle him.

Come on out & check us out this weekend at Apple Days

We received sad news this weekend. A cat rescued by Critter Haven that we found a home for about 4 or 5 years ago passed away during the nite on Fri.

Taffy was abandoned by her original family and rescued by Critter Haven. She was probably 14 or older when she was adopted by the family that ended up giving her a great home until her death.

I've attached some pix of Taffy that her mom sent to us over the years since her adoption. She was dearly loved during her last years.

Spay/Neuter, Inc. & Critter Haven have kittens running out our ears. Our volunteers are trying to catch moms before they have kittens, as well as kittens young enuff to be tamed.

Sweet Nico was adopted tonite by a great family. She now has grandparents, a new mom, & brothers & sisters to give her all the attention she demands. She definitely loves attention. She also has a kitty & doggie to play with.

Thanks to Hannah for fostering & taking such good care of her until her perfect family came along.

Nico's new mom fell in love with her when she first met her & I think Nico felt the same about her. Nico is now named Mollie.

Apollo (may be renamed Mac) & Chocolate Chip (may be renamed Tuna) went to their great new home yesterday. They will have a new mom & dad as well as two doggie brothers to play with.

These brothers from different mothers were fostered by great foster parents Victoria & Jeremy. Chocolate Chip was the last kitten left to be adopted from the Muffin litter & Apollo was the last one left from the godlings litter.

Brody definitely needs to watch out for his tail. They were very interested in it. New mom said Oscar the Beagle will probably look at them & then go back to sleep.

As you can tell from these "wonderful" pictures, no one wanted to hold still or look at the camera.

This was sent the evening Moonbeam was adopted.

She isn't big on being held but she loves to snuggle in bed...and she's an awesome biscuit maker. She finally fell asleep. Busy day for her.💜 She met CoCo. I will love her forever and ever and treat her like a princess.

My new assistant- a rare moment when he sits still long enough for a picture. He is adjusting well and loving the one on one attention. We have renamed him Tucker or Tuck.

Sweet little Moonbeam went to her great new home today. Thanks to Vickie with Critter Haven for fostering Moonbeam until she could go to Petsmart & for helping with her adoption.

We were really worried about finding just the right home for Moonbeam because she was so shy with people. We also wanted her to have other kitties to play with.

Judging from the pictures already sent since she went to her new home, she is settling right in. Also check out the video in the Comments. I think she's happy with our choice. I know she's going to be very spoiled.

Marsh & Meadow went to their great new home yesterday evening. Thanks to Vickie with Critter Haven for caring for them until they could go to Petsmart & for helping with their adoption. She had a really hard time letting these boys go.

We were very lucky to find them a home together. They are very bonded & we wanted to keep them together if possible.

Pete's new mom works from home so we feel sure he will be plenty of help while she works.

She told me before the adoption that Pete captured their hearts & her husband is so excited about adopting Pete. Ever since they met Pete, every night when they are going to sleep he says "good night Pete!"

Sweet little Mist went to her forever home yesterday. Thanks to Vickie for fostering her until she could go to PetSmart. She was a very popular little girl because we got lots of applications for her.

Mist will get undivided attention in her new home because her mom and dad are retired. She will also have a new kitty brother named Atticus to play with.

Little Perkins went to his great new home yesterday evening. Thanks to Vickie with Critter Haven for caring for Perkins until he could go to Petsmart & for helping with his adoption.

He will have a kitty named Merlin (previously named Arnie) to play with that his family adopted from us last year. We love repeat adopters.😻😻

We want to congratulate Perkins on his great new mom, grandmom & granddad, as well as Merlin (kitty brother) & Sophie (doggie sister). We know they will all love you just as much as you will love them.

Sweet little Daisy went home with her new mom on Tuesday. Her mom told me that when she first visited that Daisy was all over her and got in her purse when she was getting ready to leave. Obviously Daisy wanted to go home with her.

Thanks to Dana for rescuing sweet little Daisy off the streets. When I told Daisy's new mom where she came from, she said she & her daughter had tried to catch a kitten that looked like Daisy at the same location.

Wouldn't it be great if Daisy was the kitten they tried to catch? Congratulations on your great new home Daisy. 😻😻
