I’ve had a crazy amount of people lately saying they want to place a cookie order for xyz date, and then I never hear back.

Therefore, I am now charging a 50% non-refundable deposit (applied to the order) to reserve your date on my schedule. I will send an invoice, and it is to be paid within 24 hours.

This is basically for 2 reasons:

1. It lets me know you are serious. People who reserve dates, but end up ghosting me or canceling last minute cause me to miss out on orders for people who are serious about ordering. There’s nothing worse than preparing for, or actually being hands deep in dough and icing with an order, only to find out they changed their mind.
So I do not bake without a deposit, and I communicate that in my terms/conditions on my order form.
I will not chase down payments. I will send one final reminder for the deposit and then the invoice will be canceled for non-payment and the event date made available to the next waiting customer.
If I, personally, have to cancel, for sickness or any other unforeseen circumstance, I will refund the deposit.
2. The deposit assists in the way of ordering/gathering any additional supplies that may be needed to customize the order.

This all may sound like I am cracking down, but this is a business which takes time and money to operate. Most people will understand that.
I love what I am able to do, by the grace of God, and I love helping people like you celebrate their special times with yummy customized cookies!
