When we teach swim lessons in our currently facility, it's the only thing that can happen in our pool. But with a new facility that meets the needs of our community, we could have swim lessons, water walking, lap swim and more all at once!

Meet our Cause Driven Leader Ella Tschetter!
Ella (aka Fizzy) is our resilient leader at our Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp. As the Assistant Camp Director, Ella has gone above and beyond this spring and summer, putting her heart and soul into making camp a better place. She has spent countless hours planning summer camp, guiding our staff through leadership trainings, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
What makes Ella stand out from the crowd, is how caring and empathetic she is. She’s always there to listen and provide support, making sure everyone feels heard and valued. Her ability to connect with both staff and campers makes her a fantastic leader and role model. Ella’s dedication and passion make her an essential part of our camp family.
This summer, when illness hit our staff hard, Ella stepped up and took on the extra responsibility with grace and determination. Even during a tough week, she stayed strong and always knew the answer to every question the staff had. Ella is amazing at leading her team and the campers and is always on top of whatever needs to be done.
Ella, thank you for everything you’ve done for our YMCA. Your love for camp is truly inspiring. We are so lucky to have you on our team.

POOL UPDATE FOR 7/26/24
Since summer is in full swing and the weather has been HOT, we wanted to pass along this swim safety reminder! We know how great a splash in the pool or the river is on a hot day, but keep the color of your swim suit in mind. This diagram shows what colors show up the best in the water. The brighter the suit the more safe it is!
Teen Center will be closed July 22nd-July 26th for our Extreme Teens Camp. See you Monday July 29th.
Meet our Cause Driven Leader for June: KATIE BROWNING!
Katie (aka 4 Star) is our Kitchen Queen at our Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp. In her time working on our team, she has completely revamped the kitchen and food service program at camp. She took our former frozen, premade options and transformed them into homemade delights that have kids and adults raving. She has developed a new menu and mastered three grocery ordering systems. Katie has done a great job working around food allergies, and diet preferences, all while making sure the food is delicious.
Beyond her culinary achievements, Katie has taken on many projects to help improve camp. She planned, organized and executed a remodel of our Staff lounge, to ensure our team has a great place to relax when needed. She also successfully organized our first ever Family Date Night on May 3, and is now planning many more Family events in the near future.
Katie’s exceptional skills in cooking, organization, leadership, and listening have made her a key part of our team. She has helped camp grow in many ways and we are so grateful to have her on our Y Team.
Katie, thank you for everything you’ve done for our kids and staff at camp, and our YMCA as a whole. You are an essential member of our team and we so proud of all the work you’ve done.
