Hi all! Today is the day we've been working for all year - Dance Marathon at University of Washington is HAPPENING! I've served as Executive Director for this program raising funds for one of my favorite places - Seattle Children's ! I would LOVE your support!
College students are coming out to the marathon to hear patient stories and see their volunteering and donation impact. I've linked my fundraising page below, we would love any support to go for the Seattle Children's Uncompensated Care fund to ensure every kiddo has access to the world-class care they need. https://events.dancemarathon.com/participant/Makenna-Schwab

At one week old, Makenna started going to Seattle Children’s Hospital. Since then, she has had over 20 surgeries. Makenna is now 18 years old and a recent high school graduate. With inspiration from her support from Seattle Children's Hospital, Makenna created her own nonprofit organization called Makspire, 'Makenna and Inspire'. With this nonprofit, Makenna strives to support families who face medical conditions, similar to the challenges that she and her family faced throughout her childhood. In the past 10 years, Makspire Foundation has raised over $1 Million for Seattle Children's, Camp Korey, and Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington. Thank you for your constant support and inspiration, Makenna!
Today is 2021, the rarest day of the year!
Rare is many 👩👩👧👧

How are you raising awareness for people living with a rare disease and their families?
4 years ago yesterday, my life changed forever. I went from being in constant knee pain to having hardly any at all. It's a bit scary when your doctor has to create a surgery because your body won't follow what regular procedure is. I couldn't be more thankful for my team of doctors and nurses at Seattle Children's. They've given me my independence and even more importantly, my life. Very thankful for the last 4 years and the new normal that comes with it.

Really excited to be a part of the Seattle Children's Heroes Project! So many great celebrities and athletes have joined together to support the hospital and I am honored to be representing as a Patient Ambassador! Huge thanks to Topps Baseball Cards and Bartell Drugs for helping make this happen! I totally scored with an autographed Ken Griffey Jr. in my box! Don't miss this great opportunity to support Seattle Children's!

Hey guys! It's Makenna! As we roll into what would've been our 10th Make A Difference Day Project, I am sad that we can't be together in person. We had big plans for our 10th year, but due to Covid, we don't feel that we can safely accommodate that. So instead, this year we are going virtual to support three of our favorite organizations. All this week, you can make donations on the Makspire website (https://www.makspire.com/donate-1) or send them to 7 N Wenatchee Ave, Suite #300 to help support the greatest needs for kids facing serious medical conditions. Message us with any questions! Thank you guys so much for all the support these last 10 years, I'm excited to see what we can do this week!!

How will you show that Rare is many, Rare is strong, Rare is proud on Rare Disease Day? Don’t forget to use and tag in your posts!
On , we're thinking of all the kids who are fighting cancer. Camp Korey was founded in honor of Korey Rose, who lost his battle with osteo sarcoma at the age of 18. Inspired to bring the joy of SeriousFun Children's Network to the PNW, Korey's family set out to build a place where kids like Korey could find adventure, laughter, and lasting connections. Today, programs like Camp to You hospital outreach bring the magic of camp to kids with life-altering conditions like cancer, so they can take a break from treatment to simply enjoy being kids. ❤️
Makspire is proud to help sponsor this new unified baseball opportunity through Eastmont Youth Baseball. Please help share the word!

TODAY IS MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY! We will be out at (146 Easy Way in Wenatchee) supporting ! We are raising money for Radio Flyer Wagons which are a fun, safe, easy way to transport patients like me around the hospital! When I was little, I had hip casts from my chest to my toes until I was about 5, so wagons were my main mode of transportation. We are also raising funds for MakPaks, packs of food for inpatient families who cannot afford it, or who can't leave their child to get food! Come out and Make A Difference with us, enjoy 's photo booth, a fry truck, CrunchPak apples, and 's hair color spray. Come drop off a donation or volunteer with us!! See a need do a good deed!!

Makspire Foundation was proud to sponsor a hole for the Hole In One For Hannah Golf Tournament this weekend. Hannah is battling cancer and this tournament is helping her and her family go on a well-deserved vacation. The Johnson family is such a sweet and generous family in our community, and it's an honor to support them as they face this challenge. Go Hannah!
