We are looking for a Dedicated + Sharp Medical Front Office Assistant!

Biocentric Health Research is a clinical research site that conducts pharmaceutical trials on behalf of our pharmaceutical clients. We are seeking a Medical Front Office Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative assignments to keep our medical facility running smoothly.

Responsibilities:
• Handle all administrative duties assigned by site staff in a timely manner
• Answer phones
• Schedule patient and pharmaceutical client appointments
• Check patients in and ensure they are assigned a unique identifier number
• Enter patient information into our RealTime Clinical Trial Management System
• Scan patient information into our RealTime Clinical Trial
Management System
• Request medical records
• Check patients out (patient reimbursements and schedule patient next appointment)
• Receive site packages and follow proper procedures for registering them in system
• Record minutes from office meetings
• Post company social media content

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
• Friendly, outgoing personality, and respectful attitude
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range: $13-$18

When we say she's a MASTER TROUBLESHOOTER, we mean it! Kristen's problem-solving skills are second to none, and she always goes above and beyond to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

We can't emphasize enough how vital Kristen is to our team. Her expertise and unwavering commitment has made a significant impact on our company, and we couldn't imagine our journey without her. 🤗

In the realm of clinical research, there is a chorus of voices speaking about inclusion and diversity, particularly when it comes to the vital role of Black women in this field. However, I stand before you today, knowing that my journey carries a unique weight that few can truly comprehend. In 2013, when I embarked on the path of opening my own research clinic, there was a profound absence of faces that resembled mine. I took an audacious leap of faith, guided by nothing but my unwavering determination, and I ventured forth with scarce mentorship.

As the first Black woman to own and operate a clinical research site in the state of South Carolina, and one of the very few in the nation, I have firsthand experience of the trials and tribulations that come with navigating the complex world of clinical research as a Black woman. It is undeniable that there is an urgent need for tangible action and unwavering support. We must pave the way for better business development opportunities, provide the necessary capital, and forge meaningful partnerships that do more than just empower-- they should stand as pillars of support for African American women who are truly dedicated to the cause of clinical research.

Gaining a seat at the table requires more than being given a platform for empowerment. In our clinic, 78% of our patient population belongs to the BIPOC community. We've tirelessly undertaken a Cancer Screening study, enrolling 219 patients, with a remarkable 66% of them being African American.

Diversity in research is not meant to be a passing hashtag or a fleeting buzzword. It must manifest as tangible results that drive the diversification of medicine and treatments to benefit all individuals. We are committed to a cause that extends beyond rhetoric; we are dedicated to pioneering change that transforms the landscape of clinical research for the better.

These are the faces of hard work, determination, and commitment.

During a recent NASH Study Screening, our dedicated staff encountered a homeless patient who couldn't read or write. While we were initially prepared to read to him, a pre-screening revealed an active Hepatitis C infection, unfortunately excluding him from study participation.

Kristen and Cassie, our shining examples of compassion, ensured that we promptly reviewed our SOP for Illiterate Subjects, ensuring that our policies did not discriminate against individuals who cannot read or write. In doing so, they upheld our commitment to equal access to medical research for everyone.

After discovering that the patient could not participate, they went above and beyond, by providing him with a Hygiene kit from our Hygiene Bank and a stipend supported by our non-profit Foundation InvoCARES. These gestures ensured immediate support and demonstrated our unwavering commitment to patient well-being.

At Biocentric, we are committed to making a positive impact on both the world of medical research and the lives of those we serve. Our mission goes beyond data collection— it's about making a difference in the lives of people, no matter the challenges they face.

This week I have been serving as the Front Desk/Medical Administrative Assistant and thoroughly enjoyed greeting and checking in our study patients ❤️.
