Prayer… the best medium for change. ✨

So what really is prayer and how can it help?

As a spiritual person and therapist, you have heard me talk about faith ALOT. I say faith instead of God because we all have different definitions of what “God” might be.

However with faith, it’s pretty standard. It’s a belief in something even when we don’t have complete evidence before us. It’s taking that first step even when we don’t see the whole staircase. It’s believing and trusting that we will be guided and there will be another step there to guide us.

So what is prayer and how can it help?
Yes, it’s true that most religions and faiths use prayer to commune with the God of one’s own understanding. However, if you’ve worked with me before you know that I don’t push religion on anyone (it doesn’t work that way).

Prayer can be a moment between you and God or even just you and your inner self.

Prayer is a moment that we stop, slow down, and connect with our hearts true desires. For me, I believe that those desires have been placed on our hearts for a reason.

Prayer can look like,

“Please help me get through the day.”

“I hope that my loved one will be okay.”

“Lord, I’m struggling, please help me gain clarity and comfort in this season of my life.”

It’s raw. It’s real. It’s heart felt. And it can move mountains in our lives if we let it.

Whether you believe in God, a higher power, the universe, science, or are unsure, prayer can help you gain clarity on what it is you’re desiring right now and how you’d like to feel moving forward.

Prayer is the best medium for change because it all begins within 💜

As some of you are lucky to know! I have my therapy support dog, Storm in my at home office sleeping. She’s a registered emotional support dog for CPTSD. Shes a rescue German Shepard mix 🐶 ❤️ She has her own story of CPTSD. Starting out with her own little broken leg just in her first few weeks alive in the junk yard. She remembers, like trauma asks the body to.

Storms message today is this, in order to move forward and heal things, we must feel it to heal it. 💖
