Halfway point - Lash Lift prep step 🤍

Y-combs!! A must-have in my Arsenal for lash lifts! The flat side is first used to press the natural lashes up onto the silicone pad using a water soluble glue to hold the lashes in place.

•The other side has little comb like bristles is then used to brush through, straighten, and isolate all the lashes before the solutions are applied!

•In conjunction with the y-comb I will also use my fine tipped tweezers or a toothpick to further isolate and untangle any crisscrossed lashes…. If you don’t straightener them out before the solutions are used you will have many kinks and imperfections permed into the lashes which will make the lift look messy and the grow out process will look CRAZY!

Studio details✨

Every detail and step in the eyelash extension process is an important detail. How you place the eye pads, the direction and angel at which you place the extensions EVEN the way you squeeze your glue out of the bottle has a huge impact on your overall application.
•
Make sure you are not squeezing out a whole puddle of glue onto your jade stone (jade stone is my personal preference to work off) just the tiniest little squeeze of the bottle will do. What you want is that bead of glue right there…. That perfectly small, bouncy, perky, yet firm bead of glue is so important!
•
The minute the glue gets squeezed out of the bottle, the outer layer of that glue is already reacting to the atmosphere and changing its constitution. The freshest most active glue is in the center of that bead that’s why it is important to dip the extension all the way into the middle of that lil glue ball, not just tapping the outer layer of the glue where the glue has already started to dry.
•
Remember we are working with the new industry standard of glue that has a 1-2 second dry time… if you’re squeezing the glue out of the bottle and it is too watery and the bead has no firmness and splays out flat that glue will have a terrible bond once applied to the natural lashes and will not hold those extensions in place as long as they should and your retention will be very poor.

So this client came to me with extremely long, clumped, and poorly applied extensions from a precious artist that were causing her pain due to poor isolation
•
(Isolation is where want a 1:1 application - One extension or one volume fan glued to one natural eyelash) I think I’m going to do a whole post on isolation next!
•
In this case, multiple natural eyelashes were glued together which were causing a “tug” at the follicle when the lashes started to grow out.
•
I had to do a full removal of all the old extensions so that further damage wouldn’t occur and then applied this light yet still bold volume set.
•
Creating fans using thinner diameters and shorter lengths will give all of the damaged lashes the chance to grow back fully without having to struggle with the extra weight.
•
See all those natural lashes peeking through?!👀 love to see it! AND I honestly love being apart of people’s lash REHAB stories!!!
