I’m having a pretty wild Friday night with my crystals and plants and fur babies, y’all! (I have a bad habit of using gendered terms like “guys” and “ladies” and I’m trying to Change that... so for now, I feel like I’m from Texas, Y’all.)

You don’t need fancy things to practice your spirituality, but selecting your tools with intention is important. I used to have a foam yoga mat. I had detoxified most elements of my life, yet I was still doing yoga on a plastic-??? synthetic material. I am such a sucker for advertising and I will admit I have be soooo duped by instagram ads. But! (And I am in no way incentivized you say this or post this or anything!) my new yoga mat just makes my heart burst with joy 💛 it feels so wonderful to ground myself and root into our precious Mother Earth while on this beautiful work of art 🙏✨

What creature comforts do you embrace in your practice?

“We” reupholstered an ottoman last week and it isn’t horrible considering I don’t have a sewing machine.

Lately I have been having a hard time focusing on work when I can’t actually be in the salon working. There is so much that I can be doing, but it gets discouraging when it feels like none of my efforts are going anywhere.

In order to shift my mindset and raise my vibration, I have focused my energy in the kitchen. I’ve tried to avoid social media, and instead create nurturing works of art.

Mindful Eating ✨

As I spend time in the kitchen, I listen to audiobooks or inspiring music. I focus on being in a harmonious state while crafting my food, charging it with intention to fuel my beautiful body and aid in the miraculous work it does daily.

I made fresh orange juice simply because I had way too many oranges about to go bad. As I drank the golden elixir I couldn’t believe I have been drinking store bought orange juice for so long! I remembered when I would go to the farmer’s market and buy fresh orange juice. Now I have a goal to reconnect with this wholesome little bit of happiness. Creating food can be a ritual that nourishes your body and soul 🍊✨

A lot of people probably don't know this, but cosmetologists in California are still not allowed to work. We have not been able to work for about 4 months.

I 've had A LOT of pivots so far this year.

A lot of people maybe also don't know that I had some pretty major changes before mid March. After about 3 years of not working outside of the home, I moved, started a new independent life, and attempted to rejoin the workforce.

All of this has really given me a truly transformative space to dig deep and see what my real soul calling is, and how I can make a difference in this world. I do love doing hair and holistic beauty, and I plan to continue to do it when thats legal again. But I don't want to go back to a life driven by a scarcity mindset, fueled by capitalism, and inevitably leading to another burnout (I can't afford another year of 2x a week IV therapy for adrenal fatigue - and I don't want to live my life in the pain and discomfort I once did.) I have been so fortunate in this time spent at home and physically distanced from others to pursue passions that have been nagging at my soul for years now.

So, in an effort to diversify my income and increase my joy by embracing my soul calling, I am incorporating more skills and offerings to my toolkit. I am a certified Reiki practitioner, I am working on my own product line, and I am currently working on my yoga teacher training and growing my sound healing skills. I want to one day incorporate all of these interests and modalities into what supports me financially and emotionally.

• Started with a Purifying Scalp Treatment

• brightened all over using and 20vol

• 90s nostalgia inspired face framing highlights - I was impatient so I only lifted to a level 8 and toned with shades 8v and 10n (I didn’t have any of my new toners at home 😭)

Now I’m letting it air dry (to minimize more exposure to harsh elements) and then doing a Rebuilding Treatment for my dry ends!
