J. Humphrey Photography
Born and raised in Iowa, I have long appreciated the beauty of our great state.
I have a passion for landscape photography and helping families capture memories that will last a lifetime.
Which do you like better, color or black and white?
Had a lot of fun with this senior picture session a little while back for Paul and his family.
This year has been a pretty busy one so far and I haven’t done a good job keeping things up to date here. Watch for more posts to show what I have been working on.
In the meantime, it’s not too late if anyone still needs senior pictures. Send me a message and we can chat about it.
Merry Christmas to you and yours from Bruno and the rest of the Humphrey family!
I have driven by this abandoned house for years and always wanted to stop and take photos but things never managed to line up. Finally, the opportunity was there and it did not disappoint.
My photo has made it to the semi-finals for the competition! Another huge thank you for everyone who has taken the time to vote for me!

More Monochrome! I noticed that I forgot to post this one last year while working on my black and white edits.
We found this overlook while exploring the alpine loop around Sundance. Pretty sure this is the storm that chased us down the zip line at the resort.
Want to help me win a contest?
I’ve entered my Bear Lake photo into the America’s Favorite Photo contest. Please follow the link below and vote for me. You can vote once per day for FREE.

I decided to go back through some of my photos from our trip to Utah and Colorado and try some different edits. While not every photo can look good in black and white, there are some where it changes the feel of it entirely. Please let me know what you think.

Sunrise at Bear Lake - Rocky Mountain National Park
Got up at 4am to get into the park and find this spot before the sun came up. I then spent the next 3+ hours perched upon a large rock in complete awe of the beauty of our surroundings
One more behind the scenes and it’s my favorite… the find Jason edition. Lol
Since I was fairly well hidden it was fun to start talking to people stopping by to take in the view.
Hanging Lake - Colorado
Yes, a lake on the side of a mountain! 1.4 mile hike with 1200 feet in elevation gain. Was a challenge on hot day but well worth it!
100 yards above hanging lake is Spouting Rock. This large waterfall gushes through the rocks and flows into hanging lake. Very cool to get behind the waterfall on this one.
Behind the scenes in Colorado….
So true! 😂
The view from the top of Mt. Timpanogos at Sundance Mountain Resort.
