We provide qualified educators and program providers with the ability to award continuing education credit for meeting the professional standards of Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses, Professional Counselors, and Marriage & Family Therapists.
Notice of Denial by APA
We are deeply saddened to inform you that the American Psychological Association (APA) has terminated The CE Company’s ability to offer continuing education (CE) credits.
Last week, the APA’s Application Review Committee notified us of their decision to deny our applications for renewal as an APA approved sponsor. Unfortunately at this time, we don’t have any information to help us understand why they have made this decision, as the committee’s report will not be shared until 8-12 weeks from now. Nevertheless, our approved sponsor status is only valid through September 2023.
The APA has not granted a grace period and will not allow for appeal. The committee’s decision is final. We will no longer be able to issue valid certificates of completion for APA CE credits for programs as of October 1st, 2023.
Before October 1st, 2023, we ask that you:
Review all your programs within your account and approve anyone who is eligible, but has yet to receive their certificates (i.e. pending).
Review the attendance of your sponsored programs and notify anyone who is eligible, but has yet to request their certificates.
Communicate with your participants who can complete their program before October 1st, 2023 to immediately request their certificates so that they can obtain their CE credits.
Identify all known participants that may complete your sponsored program(s) after October 1st, 2023 and send a list including their full name, email, profession, license number, state, country and program name to [email protected] .
Here’s what we will do:
We will refund application fees for programs that were sponsored in 2023 which have not provided CE certificates as of October 1st, 2023.
For participants that have been identified (step #4 above), we will distribute certificates prior to October 1st, 2023 so program providers may offer certificates to participants upon completion of the program.
We will provide you with information about other providers who may be able to help you provide CE credits to your participants.
At your request, we will provide exports of all program information and participant records.
We are so very sorry for the disruption this has caused for your continuing education programs. Our vision for The CE Company was to make it easy and affordable for professional educators to offer CE credit to their participants.
Facing this setback is heartrending, and but we are proud that we could help program providers like you offer CE credits to over 2,300 mental health professionals over the past 4 years.
If you have questions or need assistance during this transition, please contact us .
