Something for us to brood and act on.
How we choose to look at the failures in our life will determine our future more than just about anything else.
At the end of it all, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, relationships we were too afraid to have, and decisions we waited too long to make.
📍Take chances in life! Try new 😋foods, make new 🫂friends and connections, pick up new 📗🎮🛝🏇hobbies, apply for that job, ✈️relocate to that city🌆, try 💕love again😉
Live your life to the fullest and responsibly😁, but also ensure you live it WITHOUT REGRET👌.
What's that thing you've been holding back on doing but you know you can really really have to do ?😉
I'm too tired🥱. I don't have the ⏰time. I am not 🙈capable. Someone else will do it🏃🏃. It's too late now🥹. Now is not the right time. I am not talented😔. I am not ready😖. I'm too scared. 💔Nobody will help me. What if I 😨fail. I don't feel 🫥motivated. I'd rather do nothing. I don't have the money💵..yet!
👉If you must know, I'd tell you for free " There will always be a reason why you feel it can't be done "
👉The next time you perceive a setback, don't make an excuse. See it as a 💪challenge, learn from it and move on.
👉 Excuses are distractions, and they reduce your confidence and self-belief.
👉You don't want that especially when you still have a lot to show 😎the 🌐world.
Hope this encourages someone 💙
Wishing us all a fabulous week🥳
❇️ WHAT CAUSES SUBCUTANEOUS FAT?
Everybody is born with subcutaneous fat. Aside from genetics, people typically have greater amounts of subcutaneous fat if they:
I. Eat more calories than they burn.
II. Are sedentary.
III. Have little muscle mass
IV. Get little aerobic activity
V. Are insulin resistant
❇️ WHY DO WE HAVE SUBCUTANEOUS FAT?
I. It’s the one way that your body stores energy.
II. It functions as a padding to protect your muscles and bones from the impact of hits or falls.
III. It serves as a passageway for nerves and blood vessels between your skin and your muscles.
IV. It insulates your body, helping it regulate temperature.
❇️ IS SUBCUTANEOUS FAT BAD FOR YOU?
Subcutaneous fat is an important part of your body, but if your body is storing too much of it, you may be at a higher risk for health problems including:
I. Heart disease and strokes.
II. High blood pressure.
III. Type 2 diabetes.
IV. Certain types of cancer.
V. fatty liver disease & kidney disease.
❇️ HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE TOO MUCH SUBCUTANEOUS FAT
One way of determining if you are overweight is by measuring your body mass index (BMI), which provides the ratio of your weight to your height and also by measuring your waist size.
❇️ HOW TO GET RID OF SUBCUTANEOUS FAT
I. Diet: a healthful diet that is high in fruits, vegetables, fiber, whole grains and nuts have proven to be helpful.
II. Physical activity : A basic way your body stores energy is by building up subcutaneous fat & to get rid of the buildup of subcutaneous fat, you must burn energy/calories.
In conclusion, there are a number of positive reasons that your body has subcutaneous fat, but having an excess can be bad for your health.
Spend some time with your doctor to determine the proper amount of fat for you & if you are not at your ideal level you can reach out to a professional nutritionist to help put together a diet and activity plan for your optimum health.

It was a very scary experience. Leading up to my heart attack, I had been under a lot of stress working the third shift and planning a surprise birthday party for my sister. I had a headache for a few days that I thought was a migraine and attributed it to this stress. I even took migraine medications to see if that would help. Looking back, I know that my body was trying to tell me something..
The day after the surprise party, we had a cookout with friends and family. While I was cleaning up and mopping afterward, I felt a very sharp pain in my chest. I ignored that pain, but it woke me up around 3:30 a.m. and I was rushed to the emergency room..
Once I was in the emergency room, I didn’t have to wait after explaining my symptoms to the triage nurse. I was rushed to the back for treatment and was then told that I was having a heart attack. .
A surgeon performed an angioplasty, which means that a thin tube with a tiny balloon on the end was threaded through a blood vessel near my heart and inflated to widen the artery and restore blood flow to my heart and body. .
When I was released from the hospital, part of the diagnosis was high blood pressure........( Link to the continuation of the story would be at the end of this post ).
_________________________
High blood pressure is often thought of as a men’s health concern, but that’s not the case. High blood pressure can impact anyone, and gender doesn’t increase or decrease your risk.
High blood pressure often has no symptoms at all and is thought of as a “silent condition.”
This is true for everyone, regardless of age or gender. But that doesn’t mean it’s not serious. If left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to strokes, heart attack, dementia, kidney failure, and more.
That’s why it’s important to have your blood pressure checked regularly.

A REMINDER!🎗️
👉 No one ever got fit or fat overnight.
👉 Where you are right now is the sum of YOUR own small daily habits, some good and some bad, which have built up over time.
👉 Your daily habits are the foundations of your life.
👉 The good news for you is that the CHOICE is always YOURS which habits you CHOOSE to nurture moving forward.
👉 You don’t need to be perfect 100% of the time as the journey won’t always be smooth but whenever you’re knocked down, as soon as you are physically able you need to get up, brush the dirt off and never lose the optimism.
💪Go and smash those tiny goals of yours this week.
I am rooting for you❤️.

YES! Your body weight is not a reflection of your worth.
In such a time like this where our society puts in our heads & minds what the ideal image of a perfect body should be, that we are only "valuable " to the degree at which our bodies are smaller, hereby making us have a distorted estimation of ourselves.
I'm here to remind YOU that the scale is NOT a measurement of your worth, that you're more than just a BODY.
Your body is amazing and you can do so much for yourself and for others.
Hope this speaks to someone.
Wishing us all a fabulous week❤️
A warm reminder!
In achieving your fitness goals, it's important for you to note that - There is no "magic pill" or product that can replace quality sleep ,healthy eating , stress management and moving your body.
You must take a holistic approach to your health and bring balance to every part of your life to truly achieve your fitness goals.
Wishing us all a great week🥰

Old habits die hard, she said, dejectedly 😔!
Are you starting to eat better and move more but still you're having a hard time sticking with these changes?
I understand perfectly how you feel, you see changing your habits is a process that involves several stages. Sometimes it takes a while before changes become new habits. And, you may face several challenges along the way.
Below are the four stages of health behavioural changes & what you can do in any of these stages to help you progress.
1. CONTEMPLATION: “I am thinking about it.🤔”
This is the first stage, here, you are thinking about modifying your lifestyle and becoming motivated to get started.
You believe that your health, energy level, or overall well-being will improve if you develop new habits.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
I. Ask yourself about the pros (benefits) and cons (things that get in the way) changing your habits would bring to you .
2. PREPARATION: “I have made up my mind to take action.”🎬
In this stage you are making plans and thinking of specific ideas that will work for you.
You've already set up health goals that you'd like to meet.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
After making your plans, start setting goals for putting your plan into action. Start with small changes first.
For example, “I’m going to walk for 10 minutes, three times a week.”
3. ACTION: “I have started to make changes.”
In this stage, you are acting on your plan and making the changes you set out to achieve.
You've been making eating, physical activity, and other behavior changes in the last 6 months thereabouts.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
I. Track your progress: This helps you your strengths, find areas where you can improve, and stay on course.
II. Overcome roadblocks: - Remind yourself why you want to be healthier.
- Outsmart roadblocks.
III. Reward yourself
4. MAINTENANCE: “I have a new routine.”
In this final stage, you have become used to your changes and have kept them up for more than 6 months.
What You Can Do:
Now that healthy eating and regular physical activity are part of your routine, keep things interesting, avoid slip-ups, and find ways to cope with what life throws at you.
So, tell me WHAT STAGE OF CHANGE ARE YOU IN?

Getting to the time when Iftar is near ( breaking of Muslim fast ) is such a pleasurable moment😍😍.
However, serious consideration needs to be put into what your body needs to thrive healthily during and after the fasting experience.
Below are 5 tips to a healthy fast this Ramadan.
1. STAY HYDRATED 🥤:
Always break your fast with water first, either Hot or cold is good.
You need to take about eight glasses (or half a gallon) of water per day, it is very important that you stay hydrated so you can have a healthy fast & not breakdown.
This means drinking at Iftar, throughout the evening and taking water at Sehri is also very important.
2. EAT REAL FOOD 🍲:
I prepared a list of foods that can be taken during this period on a previous post I made, you can check through.
During this period, consume majorly food from plant sources e.g Beans, Potato, Yam, Rice, Soup, Swallow e.t.c NOT Pizza, Chilled Coke/fanta, Bread....NO 😁.
Diversify your table, ensure that your meals are balanced and include the following: protein, whole grains, healthy fats and fresh fruits and veggies.
3. Get Enough Rest 🥱 : While a big focus of Ramadan is fasting, it’s also an opportunity for you to grow personally, get closer to your neighbors and loved ones and also a time to REST.
4. keep Your Body Active In An Easy Manner🚶♀:
You might not have the ability to partake in your regular gym routine, but it's quite important you keep fit.
Take a mid-day walk around the your house/street, do some gentle stretching and consider a moderate intensity workout after Iftar if you feel you can do it.
Ensure you abstain from high intensity workouts throughout the month.
5. If you've ulcer, do not fast until you've been treated and declared fit enough by your doctor to fast.
Even if you've been treated & you still feel certain symptoms of ulcer still troubling you, kindly see a GASTROENTEROLOGIST.

☪️Ramadan Mubarak! Happy fasting!
Can a Pregnant Woman fast during Ramadan ?
Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, although pregnant women are exempted if it poses a risk to their health.
Pregnant women who fast during Ramadan could be putting the health of their unborn baby at risk, according to a new study.
However, since fasting during the month is seen as an integral part of Muslim culture, many women may feel guilty if they do not observe Ramadan.
In cases like this, it is very important for them to seek medical advice from Health professionals.

I am Azeezat your Holistic wellness Coach🥰
🎥 :
As human beings, We all want to stand out and make our mark in this world, yet, for some unknown reason, we try to conform to that which the world declares as perfection.
Although, if carefully studied, the definition of perfection tend to change over time, much like fashion trends do. So why try to fit the mold of something that will soon change?
When we compare all that we have against that of another, we begin to kill our own authenticity.
We only see what we lack in comparison to what another has. This feeling of inadequacy eats up our space of all that we already have within us, and robs us of our natural gifts, unique talents, and our own handcrafted quirks that make us ourselves.
There's healthy comparison of course; that which spurs you to be better than you used to be, but the moment when that feeling of worthlessness is always creeping around you when you compare yourself to another person, at the moment you have to put yourself in check.
Wishing you all a fabulous week.

For many Women, the period of pregnancy may look like the perfect time to sit back and relax.
Because during this period , you likely feel more tired than usual, and your back might ache from carrying extra weight.
But unless you're experiencing complications, just sitting around during pregnancy won't help. In fact, pregnancy can be a great time to get active — even if you haven't exercised in a while.
WHY EXERCISE DURING PREGNANCY?
During pregnancy, exercise can:
I. Reduce backaches, constipation, bloating and swelling.
II. Boost your mood and energy levels.
III. Help you sleep better
Prevent excess weight gain.
IV. Promote muscle tone, strength and endurance.
Other possible benefits of following a regular exercise program during pregnancy may include:
I. A lower risk of gestational diabetes.
II. Shortened labor
III. A reduced risk of having a C-section.
WHO SHOULD NOT EXERCISE DURING PREGNANCY?
Women with medical problems such as : asthma, heart disease, or diabetes, exercise may not exercise.
Exercise may also be harmful if you have a pregnancy-related condition such as:
I. Bleeding or spotting.
II. Low placenta.
III. Threatened or recurrent miscarriage or previous premature births.
WHAT EXERCISES ARE SAFE DURING PREGNANCY?
The safest and most productive activities are swimming, brisk walking, indoor stationary cycling, step or elliptical machines, and low-impact aerobics (taught by a certified aerobics instructor). These activities carry little risk of injury, benefit your entire body, and can be continued until birth.
WHAT EXERCISES SHOULD BE AVOIDED DURING PREGNANCY?
I. Holding your breath during any activity.
II. Activities where falling is likely (such as skiing and horseback riding).
III. Contact sports such as football, basketball, & volleyball.
IV. Any exercise that may cause even mild abdominal trauma such as activities that include jarring motions or rapid changes in direction.
V. Activities that require extensive jumping, hopping, skipping, bouncing, or running.
VI. Deep knee bends, full sit-ups, and straight-leg toe touches.
VII. Bouncing while stretching.
📍Talk with your doctor before beginning an exercise program.
