Little Amal greets people in Mississauga before she plays games and accepts a friendship bracelet from ANDPVA and . Made by Naomi Smith (Chippewa) and Faten Toubasi (Palestinian), the bracelet symbolizes the connection between Arab diaspora and Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.
Walk with Amal is a public art project featuring a 12 foot puppet of a 10 year old Syrian refugee, who since July 2021, has traveled through 13 countries and 90 cities. Amal's journeys are festivals of art and hope that draw attention to the vast number of children fleeing war, violence and persecution.

Braiding together sweetgrass and pistachios, artists Naomi Smith (Chippewa) and Faten Toubasi (Palestinian) design the mosaic to be made as part of RECCONECT 2023, a biennial, bilingual conference for community foundations, sector partners and nonprofit leaders across nations.
