Lament for our world's condition should lead us to compassion, not disdain.

It's a radical realization to learn that the hurt and hopeless are graciously offered THE Advocate.

Followers of Jesus must embrace humility and compassion as we lament brokenness in ourselves and our world.

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

Choosing hope is an act of defiance against despair. Surrendering is an act of defiance against hope.

Dare to hope in the goodness of God and His perfect plan.

Calvary Family,

The Apostle Paul says to the church in Philippi, “I thank my God every time I remember you.” Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬

As we read these words, we can’t help but smile, because every time we think of the people of Calvary, we, too, are profoundly grateful. Our family considers it a high honor and privilege to serve at this church and with the people who call it home. This Thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude for the church we love so deeply.

Here are 7 things we want to say THANK YOU for this Thanksgiving 🦃🍁

1. THANK YOU for your love for Jesus and your eagerness to keep it all about Him.

2. THANK YOU for your love for God’s Word and for your commitment to standing upon that firm foundation.

3. THANK YOU for your love for children and students and your investment in them. As parents of 3 young kids, we couldn’t be more grateful for a church that is all in on the next generation.

4. THANK YOU for your Christlike compassion toward the hurting, the needy, the lost, the broken, the outcast and the skeptic. We love being part of a church that cares about what Jesus cares about!

5. THANK YOU for the hundreds of thousands of hours of service to the Lord and to our community that you have given. God has blessed our church not because of the labor of a few, but because of the labor of many who have said “YES!” to the call of Jesus to serve.

6. THANK YOU for your wild generosity to the work of the Lord through our church. You have always been the kind of “cheerful givers” that Paul describes in 2 Corinthians 9:7 and your generosity is making a huge impact in our community and around the world.

7. THANK YOU for your encouragement, prayers and kindness toward our family. Your thoughtful words, sweet notes and encouraging messages mean more to us than you will ever know.

Our prayer for you today is that you would be filled with gratitude for all the ways God has been good to your family and our church over this past year. Every good and perfect gift comes from His hand and this Thanksgiving we have much to be thankful for!

The Special Abilities Christmas Shoppe is coming up on Saturday, December 2nd. This event is a beautiful opportunity for families in the Special Abilities Ministry to shop for Christmas gifts.

Each year, we also have all the amazing toys that are donated sorted so that families can shop with ease.

Hospitality is also one of the beautiful parts of this event and our team does an amazing job of creating a buffet for guests and volunteers to fill their stomachs with tasty Christmas treats!
