The 2022 McDaniel Honors Application is due on March 1st! If you received an invitation to apply, you must submit your application by next Tuesday to be considered for the program. The Honors Program is a fantastic way for students to dive deeper into the liberal arts through unique courses, experiences, research, and more! Honors students also have the ability to reside in our honors-only housing option to grow within a community of like-minded peers. To learn more, go to mcdaniel.edu!

We are less than a month away from the FAFSA deadline on March 1st! It is important to submit your FAFSA on time to ensure you are considered for as much federal, state, and institutional aid as possible. Each admitted student is assigned to one of our Financial Aid Specialists, so if you have any questions about the FAFSA or other financial aid opportunities, they are here to help! Hi everyone! My name is Ariana, and I’m a sophomore in the Honors Program at McDaniel. I’m a Business Administration, Economics, and Accounting triple major with a Psychology and Sociology double minor. Outside of being in the Honors Program, I’m a tour guide here at McDaniel, I’m part of our Alpha Lambda Delta first-year honor society, I’m a member of Alpha Phi Omega co-ed service fraternity, and I’m secretary of our Jewish Student Union. Being in the Honors Program has been one of my favorite parts of being at McDaniel! Living in Daniel MacLea Hall (DMC), the primary Honors housing, gave me a set of suitemates (some of which are in these photos!) that I’ve made so many fun memories with; alongside that, living with in the Honors housing means that it’s really easy to find study buddies who are taking the same classes you are. You also get your own Honors Peer Mentor in addition to your First Year Seminar Peer Mentor, so you always have people In your corner! I would definitely recommend checking out the Honors Program when you apply to McDaniel!

We are wishing everyone safe travels and a restful break! McDaniel College will offer on-campus and virtual visits again starting on Monday, November 29th. Take a break this week; you’ve earned it!

We made it past November 15th! We could all hear a collective sigh from high school counselors Monday evening. They work countless hours working with seniors to prepare them for the application process, writing letters of recommendation, sending transcripts, and more! In the spirit of being thankful this month, be sure to thank your school counselor for all of their hard work and dedication to serving students.

We would like to give a special shout out to Eli Clarke, Director of College Counseling at Commonwealth Academy! Eli is an advocate for the Colleges That Change Lives and was named one of the Counselors That Change Lives in 2020 by the CTCL organization. He shares that "people should be open to colleges or universities they are not initially familiar with at first. There are so many great places in the US that students and parents don't initially know about that could offer then an impressive range of academic and social opportunities." We encourage you to check out his TikTok account (.C_CollegeCounseling) that focuses on providing students advice about the college search process.

💚A student who has already visited and received a $1,000 Visit Incentive Grant may visit again to double their grant to $2,000 in the special visit window- Oct. 1- Nov. 15. ⁣
💚Visit Grants cannot exceed $2,000 regardless of the number of times a student has visited.

Can you believe it's October already? It's season! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now available on studentaid.gov. Apply using the 2022-2023 FAFSA and our school code (002109) to be consider for financial aid here at McDaniel.

After a long virtual travel season last year, our admissions counselors are hitting the road again! Last week, counselors Katie, Chad, and Johari visited Montgomery County, MD to kick off travel season. We can’t wait to meet all of the amazing students out there through high school visits, college fairs, workshops, and more! Our admissions counselors will visit nearly 300 high schools in the US 🤩
