Cristina Nazario ’24 shares her most memorable experiences from her time at Regis.
Check out what she had to say!
Please remember in prayer, Professor Emeritus, Joan Murray, PhD who passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. May she rest in peace.
The late Joan Murray, PhD, served Regis College with distinction for 47 years from September 1970 to August of 2017. Dr. Murray was collaborative and engaging and her smiling eyes were a constant as she met each person at Regis as a friend.
Dr. Murray taught German but is perhaps best known at Regis for her foundational work in the field of Communication. She created Regis’ Communication Certificate Program in 1982, which proved to be so popular that it led to the creation of the undergraduate Communication major in 1987. She served as chair of the major from its inception through 2003, and again from 2013-2016. In the interim, she served as the Director of the M.S. in Organizational and Professional Communication from 2003-2013.
An active alumna of Regis College, Dr. Murray exemplified the idea of servant-leadership inside and outside of the classroom.
May she rest in peace.

We are thrilled to honor Ophelia Dahl, Co-Founder of Partners In Health, with the 2024 Shining Example at the Let It Shine Gala on October 30. ✨

Additionally, it is with the support of Ophelia and Partners In Health that Regis in Haiti was launched in 2007, allowing Regis to expand its reach and serve the dear neighbor in Haiti. ❤️
Regis College is grateful for its partnership with Partners In Health and looks forward to an inspiring evening celebrating Dahl.

We asked Rachelle Manzi ’24 what her scholarship means to her. ❤️
Check out her response here!
The Institutional Advancement team had a productive planning day getting ready for the upcoming year! 🎉 Which was followed by a fun afternoon playing mini golf! ⛳️⛳️⛳️
Sundays With Scholars ✏️
It’s so important for students to leave Regis prepared for life after graduation.
Learn how the university prepared Rachelle Manzi for her work after she crossed the commencement stage 🎓
Regis mourns the loss of friend Jack Connors, an individual who embodied a core value of the university, serving the Dear Neighbor without distinction. A tireless advocate for those in the greatest of need, Jack received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Regis in 2018.
Among his many contributions to the university and its students, Jack often served as the emcee for the Regis Let it Shine Gala that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to support student scholarships.
Thanks to Jack’s efforts and a full-tuition scholarship in his name, countless Regis students were provided financial resources to pursue their dream of earning a college degree from Regis.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Connors family and all who he touched with kindness and generosity.

Your generosity plays a crucial role in helping us fulfill our mission to make higher education more accessible and prepare our students to become change agents in their own communities.
Thanks to her scholarship support, biology student Cristina Nazario '24 walked across the commencement stage this past May—one step closer to fulfilling her dreams of becoming a veterinarian.

🌟 Alumni Spotlight: meet Yelena Geiler! 🌟
How did Regis prepare you for life after graduation?
The one-on-one guidance of my chair during the doctoral program was an essential component of my academic growth. I was encouraged to look at all aspects of the doctorally prepared nurse, not just my project. My chair, Dr. Helene Bowen-Brady, was and to this day is my mentor in taking my project further. I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Bowen-Brady for taking me under her wing and helping me feel the air of confidence.

How did Regis help prepare you for life after graduation?
Thanks to Regis, I felt fully prepared to sit for my board exams and confident to enter the field as a diagnostic medical sonographer. My classroom education and scanning labs worked in conjunction to prepare me perfectly for my clinical rotations. My professors’ great depth of knowledge complemented my clinical education in a manner that allowed me to excel.
