Today I hit 8 months of stroke recovery.
The first few months I wasn’t able to understand anything. I couldn’t think, talk or feel any emotions, I didn’t feel any sadness, happiness or anything. My mind was always blank. But ever since I was able to comprehend everything that’s happened, I never allowed myself to dwell or feel my feelings on my suffering of stroke. I always told myself to stay strong and positive because that was the only way I was going to make it through. But as months passed by I find myself filled with anger, emotions and questions. “Why me” “why did I suffer stroke especially at a young age” “why am I still alive” “I’m the one who suffered stroke and needs help but why am I getting denied help based on my husbands income” as questions continues to flow my mind comes sadness, confusion, anger, anxiety and so much more but I continue to tell myself to stay positive because I’m lucky enough to make it to 8 months of recovery. I don’t know what tomorrow holds but I’m hoping that it’ll bring me some happiness and calmness.

This week is officially 1 month since my surgery, technically tomorrow is the first time I got to come home and be taken care of by my husband. I can’t thank my husband enough for loving and taking care of me. I don’t know when I’ll get to go back and doing what I love (aka hair colorist and tooth gem specialist) but I’m just grateful for healing. ❤️❤️❤️
