Whoops I forgot to show my client afterwards what the tint process looked like! 🤪 A semi-permanent cream dye and developer is applied to the lashes using a brush, stick, or wand 🪄 and sits for several minutes before removing to darken lashes! I used black color, but brown can also be an option for natural-looking eyelashes. 🖤

Let it gooooo 🎈 Story time:
This is one of my favorite moments with a massage client. I tell my "stressed out, workaholic, give-too-much-with-very-little-return" clients this story often...
Years ago, I was working on a client who would come see me every month for a massage. Every month it was the same treatment, and we didn't have any noticeable results from session to session - their neck and low back were especially tense, like "rock hard" tense. I couldn't move the tissue no matter what I did.
They were the absolute kindest person. They would report to me every month that their job was very taxing on them emotionally. They were dealing with unnecessary drama and being overworked and felt a huge weight on their back from it. I could feel this in their body, this heaviness...
They wanted to retire so badly, but they didn't want to disappoint anyone. So more weight was added...
Finally, one day they laid on my table and said, "I'm doing it!! I'm retiring!" 👏👏🥳🙌 and we celebrated! Two more months of that job but I could feel the release almost instantly in their body.
The month after their retirement, they laid on my table, and I couldn't believe it... I could palpate the muscles in their low back and glutes! I could stretch their neck in ways I never could before! They were radiating joy and were smiling so bright, it was infectious!
We continued to make so much progress. It wasn't until they let go, that healing could truly begin. 🎈✨️
If you think your toxic job, your toxic relationship, your toxic lifestyle, your toxic mindset DOESN'T affect you, you're not fooling anyone. You're not even fooling yourself. Your body holds it for you. Your massage therapist feels it for you.
Let it go. It takes so much energy to hold on. Just let it go. You'll feel so much better. I promise.

Dressed to impress at Sunbear's Open House 🥳

It's fall, y'all! 🍂🍁
The first blast of crisp air always reminds me of a church retreat I used to go to for one weekend every October during high school. I hated the cold weather, so when autumn hit I was not a happy camper. 🚫🏕
But my sophomore year, I was standing out in the crisp fall air at Fall Rally, surrounded by a loving, compassionate group of people. We were keeping each other warm with something we called "fuzzies" (hugs!). The safe touch helped me associate the changing seasons with good feels 🥰
The following year at Rally, a friend and I would massage each other's neck and shoulders any spare chance we got! That was the weekend which sparked my interest in a career in massage therapy. ✨️💆‍♀️
I never knew the impact Rally would leave in my heart. It was difficult to describe at the time, but I catch glimpses of its profound effect on my life to this day. 💞

⭐️ I feel like I've been beaten and robbed, but I'm 100% happy about it.

Lately I've noticed my "beefy" forearms! They're strong after doing about 7 years of massage! I found this comparison picture in Belize, taken a month before I started massage school. Look at those tiny things!! 💪 I tried to put the penguins on my arm for the after photo 😂 it's all about the journey!

My mother was the first to give me a lesson in skin care before my 8th grade school dance.💃
She just became a BeautiControl spa consultant and was excited to test out her knowledge with me and a few of my friends! We tried out some of their products, did each other's makeup, and was taught about the effects of aging.
I remember her using the analogy of a grape - that our skin was young and felt as soft and smooth as a grape, but as the years go on it would change. Instead of a grape, it would look more like an almond, and eventually might resemble a walnut with deep wrinkles and rough texture.
My mom encouraged us to take care of our grape-like skin with gentle cleansing, hydration, and sun protection. 💞

It's a gorgeous day in Minnesota, and I also have the day off! 🙌 I am meeting my mama on this new moon in Leo at a place we call playfully "Bear Cave Stream" (the boom site in ). I was reminded of a photo shoot (📸 Incredipics) I did back in 2009 after I graduated from Empire Beauty School! Little did I know what the future would hold for me was an Esthetician - all I had was hope that I'd make the best of anything that came my way. Looking back at these pictures, I can feel the pure excitement, hope, and joy for my chosen career path! It re-ignites my fire all over again 🔥
