🪴 Whittier, thank you to everyone that came out yesterday at the library for an afternoon of education and hands-on gardening!

*In Our Garden* by Pat Zietlow Miller was the featured book for a special story time for kids, and supplies were passed out to all (gardening supplies and a calendar to learn about plant life and environmental responsibility!)

We then hosted a second workshop later in the day for Adults with a parallel program of Small Space Gardening.

ℹ️ Building Equity Based Summers is a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.

🎉 PS, It’s been a packed summer here at the Library and we’re thrilled to keep you in the loop with continued marketing efforts! THANK YOU TO 5,000 OF YOU for being here!

Be sure to hit the follow button to stay in the loop for all of our events, classes, workshops, and offerings such as this one here at the Whittier Public Library.

✂️ Whittier, our very first ZINE FEST is in the books!

Thank you to all who showed up, spread the word, made a screen print, took a workshop, purchased art, grabbed a tote, made a button, colored a kids zine, and made it a spectacular community event.

📣 Shout out to all the vendors for your time and talents.

Special thanks to for leading us in a screen print workshop in the first part of the day. And to for the Zine making workshop in our MakerSpace.

And thanks to for your contribution of the tote bag giveaway! We love a good swag bag (were you one of the lucky ones to snag one?!)

So with all that wrapped up, what do you say Whittier: see you for Year Two in 2025?
