Telling a child “you are a great kid” is powerful and will follow them until adulthood! If all you do is correct a child and focus on their wrongs without ever encouraging them then don’t expect them to genuinely respect you! The relationship needs both in order to demonstrate unconditional love. Positive affirmations go a long way in children!

I wanted to give an update. I am offering telehealth (video or by phone) at this time for my private practice. I accept bcbs insurance and private pay. I work with all ages 5 and older. Also I am working part time with the Community Health Center and we are offering telehealth brief intervention through primary care. I am credentialed to take Medicare and pending Medicaid with them. If you know of anyone struggling right now with emotional/mental health I would be happy to help them.
