It’s National Forensic Interviewer Appreciation Week! And wow are we grateful.

To put children and their families at ease, Patsy’s House has established a neutral, home-like facility where interviews of and services for children can be provided. Patsy’s House provides trained professional interviewers who specialize in taking testimony of children using non-leading techniques. Having knowledgeable, neutral interviewers helps to provide a more accurate and consistent account of the abuse from the child victim.

These two women carry so much of the heavy weight of what we do here at Patsy’s House. It’s a job that we wish didn’t have to exist, but if it has to, we’re glad to have these two standing in the gap.

We’re so grateful for everyone who has sacrificed to give us freedom. Y’all be safe and have a happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

Grateful we have been able to work alongside City of Wichita Falls Police Department to give the groups from the Citizen’s Police Academy a more in-depth look at what we do, with all of our partners, to provide hope and justice for children affected by abuse. Thank you all for your kindness in helping us meet some of the most basic needs for these children. We can’t wait until the next group comes to hang out with us!

Officer Brian Arias and The Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association President, Rita Miller, had the pleasure to drop off donated funds to Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center on behalf of the 48th Citizens Police Academy members.

The class pulled together their own money and was able to give to a great non-profit that serves those who do not have a voice. We were told this money came at the perfect time and will help pay for mattresses for kids. Great people doing great things!

The Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is starting to make a comeback and wanting to do more. If you have been a part of our Citizens Police Academy and want to be involved in the alumni, please email: [email protected].

June is Internet Safety Month.

With summer upon us, kids are on devices more than ever! Here are some questions to keep an open dialogue with your kids. It’s never a “one and done” conversation.

• What’s your favorite thing to do online? Could you show me?

• Would you talk online with someone you didn’t know in person?

• Have you ever been upset or uncomfortable with someone online? How did you deal with it?

• Have you ever seen something online that makes you feel curious, uncomfortable, or confused?

•Tell me about what you’ve been doing on your device today.

They strive for excellence and work tirelessly, with passion and gusto to make sure every child is seen & heard and to ensure we provide, alongside our partners, every service a child needs on the path to hope, healing & justice.

Thankful to be surrounded by and to get to work alongside such an incredible team!❤️

1 in 3 U.S. teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse
from someone they’re in a relationship with before becoming adults.
And nearly half (43%) of U.S. college women report experiencing
violent or abusive dating behaviors.

It is extremely important to be talking with your children/young adults about what is healthy, what is not and what to do if they find themselves in situation
that is unhealthy.

Did you know February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month? Dating violence is more common than most people think among teens and young adults.

Each February, young people nationwide raise awareness about teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). This annual month-long push focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.
