Holy Savior Catholic Academy Alumni Page

Any graduate of Holy Savior Catholic Academy who is planning to attend a post-secondary institution is eligible to qualify for the Beacon of Light Scholarship.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
-- Be a HSCA graduate who attended the school for at least three years
-- Be a student graduating from any area high school
-- Have at least a 2.5 grade point average
-- Enroll full-time in a post-secondary accredited institution in the Fall of the upcoming school year
-- Show charitable, religious and/or community volunteer service
-- Demonstrate leadership skills and activities

Students must complete the scholarship application and student essay, provide one letter of recommendation and official transcripts.

In honor of Black History Month, the ARISE Ensemble and the Holy Savior Catholic Academy Choir will host the 2nd Annual “Journey to Freedom” benefit concert on Sunday, February 25 at 3 p.m.

The concert will feature three songs each by ARISE (African Americans Renewing Interest in Spirituals Ensemble) and the Holy Savior Catholic Academy choir, which includes 30 students in grades 4th through 8th. The two choirs will also sing songs together.

The concert is part of the ARISE Choir’s initiative, TEACH (Transformation, Empowerment, Advocacy, Cultural Appreciation and Hope). The concert is a benefit for both ARISE and HSCA. It will be held in the gymnasium at Holy Savior, 3000 E. 13th St. N.

Holy Savior Catholic Academy is once again part of the growing movement known as "Giving Tuesday", which encourages people to donate to charitable organizations on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.

The Catholic Diocese of Wichita is part of the nationwide Catholic Giving Tuesday program, , which encourages Giving Tuesday donors to give to Catholic organizations. For the third consecutive year, Holy Savior Catholic Academy is part of the program. Giving Tuesday is November 28, but donations are now being accepted.

There are envelopes designated for Giving Tuesday in the church vestibule. Donations can also be made online to Holy Savior through the program by visiting https://wichita.igivecatholic.org/organizations/holy-savior-catholic-academy

Visit the McDonald's at 17th and Hillside from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26 to support Holy Savior Catholic Academy!

Holy Savior Catholic Academy will have a float in this year's Wichita River Festival parade, which will be held on Friday, June 2. All HSCA alums are invited to participate by walking along the float on the parade route. If you want to take part in the parade with Holy Savior, dress in your Holy Savior colors (red and black) and meet at 5 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 430 N. Broadway. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you on Friday!

The Baccalaureate Mass for Holy Savior's Class of 2023 was held this morning. Students were recognized for achievements and accomplishments throughout the year. The graduation ceremony for the eighth graders will be held on Tuesday, May 23. Holy Savior congratulates the Class of 2023 and wishes them the best as they move on to high school!

Calling all HSCA alumni: For the first time in 30 years, Holy Savior will host a home boys basketball game on Thursday, January 12. A pep rally will be held in the new Holy Savior gym from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. The 8th grade boys team will play at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 7th grade team at 6:30 p.m. Come out and cheer for the Angels in our new gym!

Holy Savior thanks Chequan Lewis, chief operating officer for Pizza Hut U.S., for speaking to students at Holy Savior Catholic Academy today. During a school assembly, Mr. Lewis stressed four topics that he said are essential to success: heart; hustle; hope and home. Thank you, Mr. Lewis for your visit to Holy Savior!

Landscaping work is ongoing in the memorial garden in the Holy Savior courtyard.

Registration is open for the 9th Annual Holy Savior Catholic Church and Academy Red & Black Banquet. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Wichita Marriott, 9100 E. Corporate Hills Dr. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m.
The banquet will feature keynote speaker Ray Emil Kapaun, nephew of Fr. Emil Kapaun. The banquet includes dinner, songs from Holy Savior choirs, and live and silent auctions.
Cost is $50 per person with tables of 10 available for $500.

The Holy Savior Catholic Academy 8th Grade Baccalaureate Mass will be held at 8 a.m. Friday, May 20 at Holy Savior Church. All alums are welcome to attend the Mass or you can watch the Mass via livestream on the Holy Savior Catholic Church page.

Holy Savior Catholic Academy students got a chance to have some fun today with the new building construction. Students got to write their names into some freshly-poured concrete, which will be beneath the building. Construction is on schedule for the new addition, with work scheduled for completion in June 2022.

Holy Savior Catholic Church and Academy thanks the Wichita Chapter of the Links, Inc. for the donation of the "PoSITivity Bench" today. The bench allows for an easy and accessible way for students to let school staff -- and their fellow students -- know if they are in need of help with any social or emotional needs.
