Birthday wishes are in order! 🎈Our Finance Coordinator, Jonathan, has been at McAdams since April. In his spare time he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter. Celebrate Jonathan with us! 🥳

Academics, behavior, and community are all important pieces of education in our program. The second session of summer school concluded last week at McAdams. One of our students entered summer school just 1.5 credits shy of graduating and he was able to complete all of the necessary coursework in just under a week! We applaud him and all of his hard work! 👏 The 2024-2025 school year begins on September 3rd.

McAdams Academy wouldn’t be the same without our amazing volunteer team! They are always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed and it truly makes a difference in the flow of events and our daily rhythms in the building, but most importantly, the lives of our students. Due to school expulsions, suspensions, and youth in foster care without a permanent placement, some children can go all year without attending school. Not attending school decreases knowledge and increases poverty. McAdams believes that regardless of a child’s behavior, their education should not be disrupted!

Our Executive Director, Chuck, founded McAdams in 2014 when he could no longer ignore a gaping chasm that kids in our community who were expelled, suspended, or in foster care waiting for placement were falling through. One conversation with him, and his heart for the underserved in our city is evident. Chuck was born and raised in Wichita and has been married to his high school sweetheart for 47 years with whom he has five children, one foster child, and 14 grandkids. We’re incredibly grateful for his leadership and devotion to McAdams! Happy Birthday, Chuck! 🎊

Fun Fact Friday! 💡Among other things that make McAdams Academy unique is our small student-to-teacher ratio. Five to one! This ensures that our students have academic help readily available. A big thanks to our teachers for their devotion to our students and their success!

Kacie has been at McAdams since 2021. She was hired as an aid in our foster care program, but quickly moved into a classroom teacher position. Her heart for the students and desire to see them succeed in academics and life is evident here at McAdams! We are so thankful for you, Kacie. Enjoy your special day! 🥳

That’a a wrap! McAdams students and staff finish the first term of summer school today. We believe that educational success is found in assessing the academic, emotional, and behavioral needs of each student. In May, we ended the 2023-2024 school year with 31 class completions, totaling 17.5 credits by students! Way to go, McAdams Academy!

Session #2 of summer school begins on 7/1. This session is specifically for students expelled into the next school year. Call the office at 316-239-6472 for more information.

Enroll today! ✏️ This four week long session will have a low student-to-teacher ratio with a staff member who can tutor students to help them earn transferable high school credits. Our July summer school sessions will be held at McAdams from 8:00 AM - 11:00AM, Monday - Friday. Class begins 7/2 with no classes will be held on July 4th.
