Please come out and support me & my crew as we put on our 4th annual National HIV Test Day! M-Care Healthcare and our friends at Positive Directions, Inc. and Community Walgreens are really excited to offer completely free STI testing, HIV PrEP appointments (including required labs), and HIV PrEP medication grant information. Going back to basics this year with a basket raffle, food trucks, and drag show. Community partners will be providing info and ACE will have the food pantry and clothing closet open. Entire event is family friendly. The Drag Down HIV show will be outside, so please bring a blanket or chairs and your bills! All proceeds are donated between Affirmative Care Essentials - ACE Foundation and Positive Directions. Please share and spread the word.

We are looking for a volunteer to staff the clothing closet and food pantry. Ideally, we would have scheduled availability for a few hours once a week.

The Kansas Legislature reconvenes on Monday, April 29th at 9 am and will be attempting to override the Governor's veto of SB233. This bill will ban transgender youth from accessing life-saving healthcare they need. It also goes a dangerous step further and bans state agencies from affirming trans youth (social transitioning).

A SUPER AWESOME volunteer organized our free clothing closet! We have lots of femme items in S-L including lots of lingerie, swimsuits, and shoes! We have limited binders, breast forms, packers, femme XL+ and masc intend. We will be limiting donations to femme XL+ and masc items for now.

ACE “lives” to serve our trans and GNC communities. While we should be helping our friends at GLSEN get ready for Pride Prom, we are instead having to fight heinous bills against those we love. The amount of aching hearts that I’ve seen lately is almost more than I can handle. Sharing this weekend in the collective anguish of almost 900 hearts just begging to have their lives and the lives of those that they love respected. The fear of in the eyes of folx with the lived experience of having their lives invalidated and rights taken by distant legislators who don’t understand them. From the bottom of my heart, please vote for people who are adamant that all people are equal and deserve equal protections under the law. We are begging you.

This day is for all the moms, the queens, and the momma bears out there supporting our youth to grow up happy, safe, and affirmed. We see you and we appreciate you! Happy Mothers’ Day to all the moms who own it!

M-Care Healthcare and Kansas Legal Services are excited to present the Kansas Gender Marker Clinic. This clinic is for folks living in or born in Kansas who want to change their gender marker. Learn how to amend your KS gender markers before the law changes on July 1, 2023. Attorney Ellen Bertels will talk about SB 180 and present on the basics of changing your gender marker on Kansas birth certificates and state IDs. There will be a Q&A and an opportunity for brief one-on-one advising sessions. We will have the paperwork available for you to fill out on site, as well as envelopes, stamps, and notaries, etc.

PLEASE BRING A CURRENT STATE-ISSUED ID IF YOU HAVE ONE. This could be a drivers license, non-driver ID, Passport, or military ID. It can be helpful to bring a copy of your birth certificate but it is NOT necessary. If you are a minor, a parent should attend with you and they should bring an ID.

If you are hoping to amend your Kansas birth certificate, please also bring your checkbook, or a money order or cashier's check for $40, as you will have to pay the Office of Vital Statistics this money to complete your gender marker change. You cannot pay this fee with cash.
