If you haven’t already met, this is Summer!! She has been a part of the Planet Hair team for almost two years. Summer not only brings a bright and kind spirit to the PHamily, she brings some serious talent. We asked her a series of questions so you can get to know and love her like we do!

🪐What drew you to the beauty industry?
My grandmother was a hairdresser for over 30 years and growing up in her salon was a big inspiration to me. I am a creative person and I wanted a career that would fulfill that part of me.

🪐What is your favorite service to provide?
Transformative colors. I love a big project and seeing how color can totally change someone’s vibe is beautiful! From natural blonde to funky vivids and everything in between.

🪐 Why did you choose Planet Hair?
The fun environment and team of extremely talented stylists. Planet hair is truly a team and we help each other grow

🪐 What is a service you’re eager to learn more about?
Extensions! I have been working on learning sew in extensions and hope to offer it soon!

🪐 What does your perfect day off look like?
On the weekend, I love spending time outdoors. I also like to stay home and work on my craft projects.

✨TEAM SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH✨
If you haven’t already met, this is Shena! She has been a part of the Planet Hair team for over 6 years and has given us the gift of being a key player on our team. We want you to get to know Shena better so we asked her a series of questions about how she came to the beauty industry and what she enjoys most about it.

🪐What drew you to the beauty industry?
I always had a fascination with the beauty industry. As a teenager I was into watching runway shows and behind the scenes candids. I like the excitement and buzz of things coming together to make heads turn or create impact. From the hair, the make up, the stage, the ideas, the fashion, the vision - all the things. It’s a creative field with so many avenues to explore.

🪐What is your favorite part about being our Lead Assistant?
I enjoy helping others. I get the opportunity to work hands on in some way with every teammate in our Phamily. I am always learning something new or being challenged and engaged mentally. There is never a dull moment! I grow and evolve as a person and as a team member everyday through the many interactions and relationships I get to have as Lead Assistant. I love the people I get to work with and for. They teach me a lot in the world of hair and in life!

🪐 Why did you choose Planet Hair?
How could I not? I fell in awe with Planet Hair from my first experience assisting my husband for a photo shoot at the Scottish Right Center. Then modeling on occasion for the salon. Every experience I had was exciting and was something I looked forward to! I loved the vibe of the salon and the people. It felt special, different from any other salon, or business for that matter. Quite literally like walking onto a different planet. I knew this was where I wanted to be.

🪐 What’s a beauty trend you are excited about?
I love to see the resurgence of once dated styles making a come back. The mullets, the perms, the beehives (okay maybe that last one is curious wishful thinking). It’s fun to see how those styles are translated in the modern generation.

If you haven’t already met, this is Rebecca! She has been a part of the Planet Hair team for four years. Ever since she began at Planet Hair, she has added a unique light to the Salon. She is hard working, kind and is officially crowned the Curl Queen (because of being a literal magician with curly hair). We asked Rebecca a series of questions so you could get to know her better.

🪐 What drew you to the beauty industry?
I wanted a career that was people oriented and creative! I absolutely love that this job allows me to meet interesting people, while fueling me creatively.

🪐 What is your favorite service to provide?
I love wavy and curly hair and providing people a custom haircut that embraces their natural texture. I also love vivid creative color and balayage!

🪐 Why did you choose Planet Hair?
I am so grateful to work with a large team of creative stylists who support and inspire me. Each person has their special spark and niche and we teach each other every day!

🪐 What is a service you’re eager to learn more about?
I would love to further my education on textured hair!

🪐What does your perfect day off look like?
My perfect day off includes getting an iced mocha and thrift shopping with friends, and spending time working on personal creative endeavors like painting and crafting.
